Hey TL. So this weekend is IPL obviously which is a pretty huge deal, and I know a lot of people are going to be glued to their computers for the next couple days. Now, I'll readily admit that IPL is outstanding in its ability to fill airtime between matches but no Starcraft tournament can really be honestly referred to as such without a) techincal difficulties and b) a hell of a lot of downtime in the later stages.
That's where Nicolas Cage comes in. So basically a student group at Northwestern hosts this yearly thing called "The Cage Match," which is a for-charity Cage movie marathon spanning 30 consecutive hours. This year's Match is starting at 9:00 CST Friday and lasting until 3:00AM Sunday. That means we'll be live about 50 minutes from the time of this post.
Now it's important to note that the Cage Match isn't something done 'ironically,' in that we really honestly love Nicolas despite his rather unorthodox style of acting.
My humble suggestion is simply that this weekend while you're waiting for the octofinals to start or whatever that you pass the time watching dear old Nick romping about the silver screen in 16 movies from throughout his illustrious career. He's a hell of a lot more entertaining than an empty Eagle's nest, at least. Plus all proceeds from the stream go strait to Amnesty International, Cage's charity of choice.
Cheers, and hope to see you on the livestream -- swing by to chat, I swear we're actually sorta normal people.
Livestream will almost definitely be at http://www.livestream.com/thecagematch but there's a chance it can change at the last second, in which case I'll edit the blog.
And here I was expecting Nicolas Cage to stream SC2 or something...but still awesome, he's in some of my favourite movies (Matchstick Men and Kick-Ass)
This reminded me of the skit that Conan O'Brien does homeland security based on Nic Cage movie quotes.
Ironically it does a pretty good job of describing how I feel about Nic cage, he's alright , but sometimes it's so bad.....you just can't believe it xD
Forgive the subtitles, just happened to be the version I found , meh.
