Another game review i wrote a while back, hope you enjoy :D
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
So I’m sure that everyone knows about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 by now. It is the fastest selling game ever and for good reason. Every man and his dog, familiar with the series or not, lined up to get a piece of the new installment which sold over 6.5 million copies within the first day of the release.
The game itself if a polished, refined, balanced and notably better version of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. They’ve employed the ‘If it ain’t broke, just tweak it and make it a little better’ strategy, which worked really well. It has better graphics, smoother and more flowing gameplay and some awesome and memorable maps.
The single player campaign follows the same old story, you know, world domination, and all that fun stuff. The antagonist from Modern Warfare 2 is back, Vladimir Makarov. He intends to bring the world to its knees by manipulating key global powers and starting World War 3. As usual in the series, you get to play a host of different characters, such as a member of the Delta squad, or a British SAS soldier. The campaign is full of big explosions and falling buildings, much like any film directed by Michael Bay, but is still worth playing through as it is generally entertaining.
The multiplayer is really what shines in Modern Warfare 3, with a completely reworked Killstreak system allowing you to choose between support packages, strike packages, or specialist packages. Also, you gain points for Killstreaks from killing enemy equipment, capturing objectives, getting assists and of course killing enemies, which is much more rewarding than getting Killstreaks based solely on kills. There are also some new modes, like Team Defender, where you have to capture and hold a specific point for as long as you can for points, and Kill confirmed, where you collect dog tags from enemies killed, or fallen allies for points.
Rating: 9/10: Whether or not you’re a follower of the Call of Duty series you will enjoy the action and fast paced FPS that Modern Warfare 3 brings to the table.

Awful post. Awful game. So glad I didn't waste my money on it

I think anyone on teamliquid either likes MW3 and already has it or is going to buy it, or doesn't like it and has decided not to buy it, leaving your review pretty pointless.

Horrible game. I hate it so much. I hope Infinity Ward folds because they are so terrible. Bring on Treyarches next CoD.

Killstreaks are a blight.
They artificially make the already-winning team even more unstoppable.
Imagine if in Starcraft, once you got a little ahead of your opponent, absolutely free minerals and vespene just showed up in your resource pool, or if you just magically got a bunch of free marines.
Except it gets worse, because the upper-tier killstreaks are insanely powerful. How do you stop a team that's got an AC-130 gunship? To use my starcraft analogy, that'd be like you getting a bunch of free battlecruisers. You are just completely unstoppable, because once the killstreaks start coming, it becomes harder and harder for the other team to get any of their own. How do you get 5 kills in 1 life when the instant you step outside, a helicopter blows you to pieces?
In all the CoD games after MW1, but especially in Black Ops and MW3, once you're behind at all, you may as well just quit, because you sure as hell aren't going to make a comeback.

Well the thing is, kill streaks in CoD is like getting ahead in Starcraft 2, you can't say the game is over if you go for some early pressure and he deflects in and has an economic lead. You work to close the gap by playing better. What if in starcraft every time someone got slightly economically ahead the player just said. Oh well its over im going to exit now he is going to have a bigger army than me now nothing i can do. same thing applies in CoD. you say Okay he has an so i am not going to run out in the open like a madman, im going to camp for a while and stay close to the walls and play smart.

But killstreaks cause a compounded lead. Once you get a killstreak, it becomes harder and harder for your opponents to do anything. It isn't a matter of closing a gap by playing better when you get blown up the instant you step outside.
How can you close a gap like that? Where the leader doesn't even have to work to maintain it?
The problem is not that killstreaks provide an advantage, its that they provide an advantage with no weaknesses. Grabbing that extra expo in SC provides a nice income boost, which is an advantage, but it comes at a price. First it costs the price of a town center and workers, but then it also is a vulnerability, as you now have another base to defend.
AC-130's and attack helicopters are completely free and come with no disadvantage.

Black ops wasn't definitely better than mw3. I don't understand how you could say other wise
