Bronze league. We all know the horrors: cannon rushes, 6 pool, bunker rushes, hell any cheese and you will see that more often than any standard play. I have finally decided it is time to seperate myself from this league and I think that by actually working and playing games on a regular basis that I will find more enjoyment out of this game.
So Im going to start blogging about my progress of not just escaping this league but hopefully moving on to gold or platinum in the near-ish future. I will occasionally post fun games I had and also some difficult games or ones that just make me rage. I hope that those of you who choose to read this enjoy yourself and have good luck in your own quests to improve!

The worst part about bronze, there ISN'T standard play. because no one knows what "standard" is.

I'd go so far as to say that these things, minus a 6 pool, happen less in bronze league because of execution.

post some replays! I wouldn't mind looking at them and giving a tip here and there.

I'd like to add that you should watch out for cannon rushes and 2 rax / bunker rushes. They may be poorly executed compared to a GM player but they'll definitely throw you off if you aren't prepared or don't know how to react to it. =)

If I could go back to the past and tell my self in BW how to get better, I'd just tell him to forget scouting, and forget gimmicky builds, and just to focus on macro. If a build can hold of 6 pool it's good enough. After that it's just about building an scv whenever I have 50 minerals and the CC queue isn' full, and building another CC as soon as I reach 400 minerals.
My advice is to get into a practice game against the computer and to just focus on getting to 200/200 while still being able to defend 6 pool as fast as possible.
A coach would help too.

The good old double forge cannon rush into turtle up for a 200/200 supply army of pure Void Rays.
Honestly, no clue if this actually happens in Bronze League.

I've had a couple of one base mass void rays or one base mass carriers in my time. lol

Bronze players tend to go 'glhf' midway through a game. right before his voidray allin turns up
|
Yep. To escape bronze just make alot units. Turtle if it's safer, mass a ton of units, upgrade(!) and destroy everything that comes in your way.
Try to build a healthy dose of workers and try not supply block. Remember that DTs, Cloacked Banshees, voidrays are ALWAYS a threat. GL :D

You forgot the transition to DT's about midway to 200/200...

If this is the reason you want out of bronze, then I must tell you that cannon rushing, bunker rushing and the rare 6pool also happens all the way up the grandmasters^^
(Damnit, someone beat me to it!)

Good luck Buddy!
We'll see you in Plat soon/
|
I made it up a league just by being consistent with knowing the basics. And it can't hurt to win as often as possible.
|
always the problem with bronze-low diamond, you can scout all you want but what you see could be indicative of x, y, or the fact that your opponent is just haphazardly doing nonsense.
gl hf, will read progress
|
Thanks for all the feedback guys! Especially about how cheeses will always happen no matter what league I am in. So macro macro macro and dont get supply blocked are my biggest goals apparently. I will be uploading some replays in the near future for yout perusal.
