For this special testing scenario, Blizzard actually brought MarineKing.Prime onboard to micromanage a single marine against the Super Thor. Yes, that's right. With the new Super Thor's mechanics, it is theoretically defeatable using a single marine with perfect micromanagement.
The main inspiration for this weakness actually comes from the Thor's Wings of Liberty beta development days, where its turning speed was so slow that units were supposed to be able to remain out of its firing arc. Now we have the same weakness for the Super Thor.
Leaked Art of the Super Thor

In its current state, the Super Thor is an extremely powerful mech unit. It is armed with a single rail gun on one arm effective against mech units and a small laser pod effective against bio units. In its other arm pod, it carries a nuclear missile launcher capable of delivering a nuclear warhead anywhere on the map. You've read it right: the Super Thor can fire a nuke to land anywhere on the map.
But fear not! Like I said earlier, the Super Thor has a glaring weakness in that it can be taken down by a single marine with proper micro. MarineKing.Prime was able to execute the trial scenario flawlessly to prove this fact.
Here's a screenshot of the battle as it took place:
And you thought driving a Hummer is overcompensating...
The first step to taking down the Super Thor is to target its radar system with the marine. Destroying the radar system will blind the Super Thor and force its pilot to steer the vehicle by naked sight, exposing the vulnerable glass cockpit.
At this point in time the marine can directly target the Super Thor's cockpit. It is important to shoot only at the vulnerable cockpit, since it has far less health and armor than the actual vehicle itself.
Once the cockpit is destroyed, the Super Thor is almost defeated! The pilot of the Thor will now climb out of the vehicle, and you must finally defeat the pilot itself. This is no easy feat, since the pilot is similar in strength to the marine. This is actually the most difficult part of beating the Super Thor with a single marine, since by this time your own marine may be low in health due to stims. Even MarineKing was not able to complete this third phase during his first attempt at the scenario.
Err... placeholder graphics? Yeah, that's it.
But after a few tries, MKP succeeded in defeating the pilot. One 50 mineral tier 1 unit defeating an end of the tech tree, super expensive super-unit. I'm sure the feat can be replicated using a single zealot or two zerglings.
So for those who are worried that the Super Thor has no place in Heart of the Swarm, or will be too overpowered, do not fret. Blizzard will never design a unit without any weaknesses.
