I saw Mr. Bitter's thread on men's fashion, and have a few burning questions.
I live in a very unfashionable area(jacksonville, FL), I honestly don't know of that many stores that even have nice looking clothes. I am trying my best to start dressing somewhat nicely(I think, lol), but I have a couple of problems, that have to do with my body type.
I am 6'3", and weigh 155 lbs....quite skinny obviously. I also have longish arms and legs. So just how the fark do i find fitting pants and shirts? I actually have small celebrations whenever I can find a pair of slim dockers 32-34....and I have had exactly two such celebrations in my life(and I just realized recently that I should order them online....lol n00b). Finding my current only dress jacket took several months of looking.
Dress shirts are my biggest problem by far though....i just don't know, haven't found a dress shirt that has really fit me yet. Polo I can find, slim mediums fit me well enough, although maybe just a tad short, they aren't bad at all. But dress shirts defeat me. I need long sleeves, but not a huge-ass neck/chest/waist. I'm a complete fashion n00b, tbh, so I don't even really know where to start looking, and i don't want to have to tailor a simple dress shirt just to not look terrible. For "size comparison" a 15 1/2 x 34-35(i think) fits me as far as arm length, but is way too big around the waist, and alittle big around the neck. The next common smallest size I find, and I can't remember the exact specs either (32-33??) but the arms are too short on that size, and the waist is STILL too big.
-_-
And don't get me started on jeans......

There have to be department stores in your area! Just go to men's section. If dress shirts tend to not fit because of your build the only way is to have them tailored :[.

Try www.moderntailor.com. Really good shirts made to measure
edit: You can also just buy shirts that fit you reasonably well and get them tailored to fit how you want them. Just be very descriptive when telling the tailor what you need.

Agree with Gatsbi! But if you can help it go to a Macy's. DKNY makes shirts that have a decent cut.

try Express, their dress shirts run very tight so would be a great fit for you.

Yeah definitely try Express for men, their dress shirts are very stylish and pretty tight. Although it might be a little pricey. I noticed though that usually the online express store has much cheaper deals so you could try out some shirts in the store, if you like it save the model number and see if you can buy it online for cheaper. There's usually much more sales online and if you are on their mailing list, there's a lot of those 25 dollars off of 75 or 50 off of 150 deals which are pretty nice.

For dress shirts there are a few key measurements you need to know.
1) The circumference of your neck This is the number you see in the neck of the shirt. If that is a correct fit go on with 2). If not walk away.
2) Your waist / chest If you are skinny like me try to look for a shirt with "Slim fit" or something on the label. These shirts should have narrower shoulders, a body-hugging back and chest width and the reduced waist and most companies have shirts like this. Perfect for us non-fat people
3) Your arm length If your arm length is longer as the standard (25 inch is standard I believe) search for a shirt with extra long sleeves. These shirts have a sleeve of 27/28 inch. This should be stated on the package of the shirt.
Knowing these 3 things should make it easier for you to go shopping for a good fitting shirt. Good luck.

I am 5'4'', and weigh 123 pounds. I am pretty skinny with relatively long arms, and Express is the only place I buy shirts from, otherwise they are baggy and look ridiculous. That being said, it's a pretty expensive store. Keep a lookout for sales, if money is an issue.

A lot of places have "slim fit" shirts, those would probably be perfectly good for you. Banana Republic has them, for example. Or you can get them tailored, this is of course the best fit of all but usually some additional cost involved.
If you shop around enough you will find some brands that fit your body pretty well.

I'm in exactly the same boat, since I'm 6' 1 and 140 lb. Had the same problems until last summer, when I discovered www.blanklabel.com. Awesome service and super helpful/friendly staff. And I've never had shirts that fit so damn well (I just took all my own measurements and sent them in). Runs you $60-$80 per shirt though.
