I thought I'd share this amazing deal with everyone here, given it's quite likely that we enjoy some awesome, awesome RTS games.
Here's the offer page: http://www.gog.com/en/news/get_empire_earth_gold_edition_free
Add this to cart and check out (you need a GOG.com account, but that's a small inconvenience): http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/empire_earth_gold_edition
And have fun!
I remember wanting to get this game ever since I read about it in a magazine, and was pretty much the only thing I played for a whole year, beating up Barbarians, slicing up Englishmen, building one of every robot to see what happens and cheatcoding my way to wins vs AI because I was young and didn't understand any of micro/macro/hotkeys.
Thanks for GOG.com and Rockpapershotgun for directing me there!

Downloading now, thanks for the heads up. I wanted to play this game so badly when it was released, but I didn't get it for some reason :/

Awesome! I love GoG.com and free games
|
thanks buddy. Downloading as we speak Actually never tried this ...
|
Thanks!
I loved Empire Earth and was so disappointed when I couldn't find my CDs

Thanks for the reminder, Mobius!

Classic RTS, nostalgiaa! I actually have this but I misplaced it awhile ago... :/

Downloading it, your the man. Hugs?

downloaded, but can't run... does it not work on Win7 x64?
after checking file integrity, it doesn't do anything at all. I see the setup_empire_earth_gold.exe and .tmp in the task manager, but their memory usage don't increase...

I just searched up Empire Earth on YouTube.....
I remember as a kid, I went to the library a lot to use their public computers because my family didn't own one yet. A lot of kids went to the public library, actually, and there were "regulars."
One particular regular brought in a CD and inserted it into the computer. GLORIOUS GAME! I kept asking him if I could play, and since the library had scheduled times on a piece of paper you had to sign your name on, he wouldn't let me play because it'd use up his time. And after he was done, he left with the CD and I never got to play it ever!
I'm downloading it now to see what I missed out on!

Try ending the GOG Downloader process and the Empire Earth process. Then open your GOG Downloader again and try again.
On another note, is there a place to join multiplayer games? Because I think the official servers are or have been long gone. Maybe something hamachi, garena, gameranger-like?

Just played a random map on easy to remind myself what the game was like and check out the new Space Age in the expansion (that part was a bit meh tbh, although anything beyond Modern Age I never really enjoyed because things seemed abstract and difficult to get to grips with)
The game itself was quite fun and hectic, and graphics look decent. I can't imagine what proper competitive multiplayer would be like lol, should probably give it to a few BW pros and see what they make of it (B52 spam?). I heard you can play it on Gameranger-like stuff, basically simulated LAN, the official servers are pretty dead.
Somehow I didn't encounter any problems with the download or install on 64 Win7. Hope you guys having trouble find a workaround!

Thank you for the tip. It's an awesome game. Every person who loves RTSs has got to try it.

Super cool!

Absolutely loved playing this game.
I can't believe it's been that long since this came out. I thought this game was the bee's knees back then.
Good thing this became free since I lost my old copies.
