Good morinng dear community, Welcome to my first blog! I hope you enjoy it I don't even know why I write this, maybe to dismiss my anger about cheese, ladder and everything else, but maybe just out of boredom. I am currently a high Platinum Protoss player who used to win most of his games to get promoted soon (well, today basically, because of the season lock), but then I took an arrow in the knee - cheese . Apart from the fact that I don't even like cheese in the real life (except on pizza!) I want to tell you my story about my ladder day today. After getting roach rushed dozens of time yesterday (and losing to all of them ;() I hate zerg even more than before. Is it because of the season lock incoming or why is everybody cheesing so much this weekend? Well, I will tell you the story of my first few games today:
Game 1 I played against a fellow Protoss on Metalopolis and guys, now I know what people mean when they say lowground cannons reach the mineral line. Guess what, I got cannon rushed. I still hold it off eventually though! But I had already in mind will smell cheesy again.
Game 2 Another Protoss - another cannon rush. Yep, I am serious. Well, again I eventually hold it off and killed him later in the game, but still: Why is everybody cannon rushing so much? Just because they hate PvP? Colossus wars are so exciting
Suddenly a wild zerg appeared! Game 3 Ok guys, nothing to see here, normal passive macro game on Metalopolis when suddenly some broodlords behind my eco line at the third. Very abusive *cough*. Well, I lost, I played terrible, My opponent was high diamond though. Promotion inc? Guess not.... The next game was a very normal game, too, I won a Colossi war PvP.
Oh, what do we have here? Another Protoss! Not only are they cheesing, there are simply too much of them! Game 5 I 9scout and see....a Forge?!? Well, it was Shakuras and he built the forge as wallin at the natural, so I knew he was going FFE while scouting my base properly. Then I had to make the decision: 4gate or Nexus First? I cancelled my Gateway and just threw down my nexus and from there one macro up to 2robo Colossi. The problem: He didnt build a robo. But 3 Stargates. I failed to scout it as my observer crushed into a cannon and I didnt send another one. I should have known something is up and then 10 Void rays appeared out of the shadow, raping my mineral line and buildings. A Zealot/Colossi army isnt that good against this kind of units.....
Game 6 First terran of the day! And I scout? Only marines, nothing else. My alarm bells immeadiately rang, I went 30 supply 2 gas 1 Gate expo, throw down the Robo and 5 gates, killed the first cloak banshee but failed to stop the following 1/1/1 (with SCV's pulled). It was 1 minute earlier than I expected so I had very few units, mostly stalkers and only 1 immortal as I built 3 oberserver to be safe against the banshee Well, now I know how to defend 1/1/1. Atleast I hope so.
Time for breakfast!
Game 7 After eating some bap (not sure about the name, in german its "Brötchen") I wanted to find a game asap. Well, I found an opponent - it was a random. I already prepared mentally for a 6pool, but my opponent dropped out. Lucky win!
Game 10 Another Colossus war and one 10pool into roach/ling allin later I had to fight another zerg. On Tal'Darim. Guess what - mass mutalisk I opened stargate, killed 10 overlods, 5 mutas and some drone swithout losing anything but he just massed mutas, denied my third and I went allin with blink stalkers (not a few!), some zealots and ~10 phoenixes. I got crushed. Is it a premature egrackulation when I tap out when my 2base army is dead, 20 mutas survive and he has 2 base (i killed one hatch) are left? Well, I don't care, I will just do gateway timings on Tal'darim now! Let's see what I am about to face in the next game..
Yup, its a Cannon rush - once again. I guess its time for me to always 9scout. I let a second probe in once again bad as I am Ididnt realize fast enough whats up and even forgot to lay down a forge myself to defend. Well, I suck I guess :D Before this cannon rush game I got Warp-Prism 4gated. Did i mention how much I hate PvP? I won the game after this and a window popped and I already though; yay, I am diamond!!! Well, no, it was only the achievement for 250 wins as protoss, guess I wont make it today. I am still #4, 30 points behind #3 and 60 points ahead of #5. Guess this will be the case for one more week. Atleast I have a nice Void Ray picture now!
My next game was another PvP. Quite unanticipated no cannon rush but a macro cheese (1gate robo expo or smth which would have died to all kind of aggression). Well, I was busy with his warp prism and then was very far behind ;( But hey. the world is not boring: I got 6pooled directly after that! Well, he built it at 8 and i had a cannon up at my natural and he just gg'd knowing he was too far behind. Time to take a break and do something for school tomorrow!
Alright, I am back! I don't have done that much things for school, more precisely nothing, but thats :offt :! Let's go into the next game: Tal'darim Altar against a terran opponent. I scout his bunker and only marine so I know banshees are coming. I delay my nexus for the robo to know exactly what kind of push is coming and I see 2port banshee. As I am still a little noob I have know idea what is coming but still defeat the first 2 banshees without a problem, I even kill one. I realize he will go allin and stop tech/probes and just go mass stalkers as he only built marines/hellions ans banshees. Well, banshees are pretty good! I wanted to place down a stargate but cancel it as I see him pushing. I crush his marines/hellions and the banshees retreat. 5 minutes later he pushs again - with SCV's - and completely c rushes me. Guess I should have rebuilt that Stargate? Well, now I know!
Thats it for me today, but maybe I will be in another league soon. Or maybe not. But one thing is for sure: When I'm Grandmaster, I will play faster They'll call me bonjwa, just like my name was Flash But now I'm just Plat
Thank you for reading it, feedback is very appreciated! I am gonna close StarCraft for today, eat some Pizza (I need more cheese in my life!) and drink some Well, and do stuff for school! Always remember, Starcraft is fun, but school is important for your whole life!
love, gl and hf Tarotis
ps: Go mana, win the scan invitational! (or take another second place once again ;()

hehe nice

Somehow some parts of the text got lost, gonna edit a bit now...

lol nice. Blizzard believes that you need to work on defending cheese. Obviously, they are correct. Work on your scouting bro or they'll have to start singing in-game vs you that you don't even scout. You don't know whats up!

Against terran its even harder! But yes, thats probably my main problem at the moment and I try to work at it

London Elektricity is awesome!

I find this weird: all zergs hate protoss and all protosses hate zerg. Is there anyone who likes this matchup? I find this funny because all my protoss friends say "zerg is op" while all my zerg friends say "toss is op".

The trick is to cheese when you are in masters. Few expect it up, and fewer can react properly to it.
Note: by cheese I don't mean cannon rushing. I mean scv-allins every game.

Zergs simply hate whiney cheesy races that only know how to do stuff off of one base or two base all ins until they take a third and turtle up hard. Protoss are simply jealous of our free three bases and because of their combined rage from PvP they direct their anger at building cannons into our naturals.
Meanwhile, the magnificent Zerg player, with his trillion IQ and 600 apm, gets stuck in gold because people keep cheesing him. With his calculated decision he decides to stab the Protoss in the heart where it hurts, baneling busting right through forges and pylons.
The Protoss player, distrought and complaining about not having a boat unit so they can travel over their tears, decides to go for a 4 gate instead of a cannon rush but gets shut down by the tactical genious of the glorious zerg player, 6 pool drone allinning him.
Depressed, the slightly dimwitted Protoss player admits to his primal cheese urges, opening dark templar in every PvZ he meets. Within 10 games, he is insta-grand mastered while the Zerg player, more skilled and probably more endowed, gets stomped into bronze. The Zerg player quickly respondes in the next game by metagaming the Protoss however, going Lair as soon as possible and buliding 12 overseers. The dark templar are now so visible to the Zerg player that the sheer ugliness of its appearance makes the Zerg forget injections, zergling speed, and to build units. The dark templar still kill him off but atleast the Zerg managed to contaminate every building of the Protoss.
The zerg players, convinced that they deserved to forge the world out of their unending knowledge of the game, accumulate on the forums to downvote anything related to Protoss and Terran and talk high of every Zerg player that attackmoves into armies effectively.
And this is why we hate eachother. It's nothing personal or imbalanced, just that on one hand there's beautiful, talented and tactical masterminds whereas on the other side there are jealous, sad people wishing they had as much stuff as the Zerg.
@OP : I get what you mean, in general cheese doesn't hurt me much but cannon rushes just enrage me more than anything and will probably effect the next couple of games.

PvZ is definitely my favorite matchup. The lack of scouting you can do vs Terran infuriates me when I prepare for a normal 111 and they end up doing something else like 2 port banshee. But vs Zerg, I love how all of the Protoss units synergize really well together and hallucination scouts show you exactly what's up.

Haha this was a great read and sry friend but it doesn't get better in diamond lolol.

I know your pain even though I'm Terran, I've lost 6 games in a row tonight and 5 of them were to cheese. seriously its getting crazy at this point, I've had 10 games today and have only won two of them (which were macro games bdw, tvz). At least ive learnt that if they pull off alll their workers to kill your scouting scv, its probably cheese.

lol just one of those days gl dealing with it in the future!

o.O 6 games before breakfast.
I envy your lifestyle.
