Even if they mutually decided to hide the kidnapper for money, they can claim that they did it under duress and everything goes out the window. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. Sorry if i am incorrect. You're correct. Contracts also aren't valid if committing a crime is part of it.

He's NOT coming back but he can be a dick all he likes until the Justice system techs to mutalisks. WHICH THEY WERE ALREADY DOING. Pretty much. This is why I don't see why people get riled up by shotty journalism like this. This isn't news, this is just some idiot digging himself deeper.

http://overlawyered.com/2006/09/the-burglar-and-the-skylight-another-debunking-that-isnt/ In other words, a burglar fell through a skylight, and blamed the skylight’s owners for his injuries; because the law permits such suits, and because the law does not compensate defendants for successful defenses, Bodine had the ability to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars from taxpayers for injuries suffered in the course of his own criminal behavior. Really stupid shit happens in our country. People sue McDonald's because they burn their stupid self by ordering hot coffee and then spilling it on themselves. They then sue McDonald's for having the gall to serve them hot coffee. And they get away with it. Apparently common sense isn't good enough. If you didn't triple idiot proof your product (thus coffee cups now having "Caution: Contents are hot" on them), some lawyer will find a way to get money out of you. Pretty sure our fugitive of the day has absolutely no case against the couple, but stupider shit has happened in the past. Like the couple randomly suing him for 75 grand. [insert Kansas joke here] The coffee one is actually pretty misunderstood. See, by "hot" they mean practically melt your groin area. And there are photos of it. Pretty gruesome stuff, I must say. There actually has been other suits that aren't exaggerated, though, like a man swallowing a fish hook and suing.

I think the same thing will happen here, the criminals cases should fall through. On December 02 2011 06:27 AnachronisticAnarchy wrote: The coffee one is actually pretty misunderstood. In that coffee case, they even already had the warnings, they just weren't big enough warnings apparently. The coffee was served at a fairly standard industry average too... Guess the guy knows hes got nothing to lose so why not try a risky move like a fake contract? Also, he should've said $50. You spoiler'd the relevant part? What?

That woman required a weeks hospital treatment, over a years rehab and skin grafts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald's_Restaurants Call it frivolous if you want, but that case wasnt as stupid as a lot of people think. Still, the little bit about him suing them for the amount they are suing him... that bugged me, why are they suing him? You dont sue criminals, you imprison them. Fair play to his counter if thats how you guys do things, i'd probably do the same if thats how you want to go. I doubt he has the money to be sued so how do they expect that to work?
