Well. I must say, i went from someone who wished he'd man up & realized what he was doing, feeling a teensy bit bad for him, to someone who honestly doesn't care about him at all.
I'm glad he's leaving. To say things like that, where he clearly demonstrates he understands what'll happen just makes everything he said seem even more conceited.
Oh well, Esports'll keep on, keeping on

You know better than most the Milkis covers up his rage at first with smilies and deflection. When we all started chastising him jokingly for "betraying brood war" a few months back he did the same thing shortly before exploding in IRC, threatening to quit and posting some drama we had to close into oblivion. The guy is not some master troll; he's an extremely thin-skinned dude who put himself out there for the same reasons you and I contribute to TL.
For what purpose? I'm guessing you're too nice to just outright say attention and pity. How long do you give before he comes back?

Well, we have had the pleasure of watching several amazing translators do their best. Milkis seemed like a nice guy, but honestly, and I dont like saying this but its the truth, milkis wasn't the best at what he did. We saw several MLG's where he translated and the amount of improvement he had at translating during the time span of those MLG's was not as much as it should have been. He could have worked harder. But What I'm trying to say here is that, we brought him up, gave him much love and support, because we thought he needed when we saw him nervous on the MLG stage. from there, we didn't stop... although there were many more translators around doing a better job but getting much less attention. We should be very careful when we just continuesly support someone because we felt bad for him once.

Sigh, this is just really unfortunate. All controversy aside no one can deny that Milkis was a really valuable member of this community who significantly bridged the gap between us/koreans - everyone who says he's "replaceable" is kidding themselves.
I guess there's nothing more to be said that hasn't been said - I wish you the best.

The guy is not some master troll; he's an extremely thin-skinned dude who put himself out there for the same reasons you and I contribute to TL. There isn't much other context besides that, and none that'll make it seem better. He said the last part was sarcasm, earlier today, but I don't believe him. He knows exactly what reddit and the SC2 community can and will do, he's seen it and he's talked about it before. As a former moderator himself, he had to have known what would happen on an unmoderated forum, especially after what's happened to other people in the community. I think it is a master troll to some extent, or at least a game. The first two or three times something similar happened, I was sympathetic and tried to help him through it. But this keeps happening and I do think it's about attention and praise. If you're genuinely just tired, you walk away quietly. He wants everyone to know that he's walking away. For what purpose, I don't know. The context comes from knowing how he's acted in these situations before. No doubt there's a want for attention; that's why he posted. But I get the sense that he's looking for nothing but positive responses as opposed to trolling for negative responses. I base this on the fact that even the smallest, even joking, negative comment gets him all emo and "tired" and whathaveyou.
But isn't that what Jibba pretty much said, that he's doing it for praise and attention? Which is pretty sad really and i fear for his self-esteem levels.
At the end of the day, i think he knew what he was letting himself in for, to what extent exactly. Who knows. But it clearly didn't go how he planned and instead of just putting his hands up and saying he is wrong or justifying his stance. He decided to walk away.
It might be a good thing for him in the long run, and it might be terrible. Hopefully during his time away he can learn and try to be happy because he's way too negative and that's not a good way to live your life regardless of what you do.

I'm glad Milkis did what he could while he was part of community, his blogs of his trips at MLG's were great, and I was very happy for the translations he did. However that post on reddit really irked me the wrong way.

All this because Kwark went to a tournament in London this weekend. Disaster could have been prevented! Damn you Kwark!!!

That and the moderation.

@Milkis: I guess good riddance, I thought your contributions were significant but you're just being immature.
Here's a tip: Type your opinion into a texteditor and let it sit for a while. Read it again and then if you're still happy with what you wrote submit it...

MIlkis, are you serious? Like really, I know it can be exhausting going to a Live MLG and translating and STILL have people shit on you for it, but really? If people disagree with your opinion, let them be, who gives a fuck? Oh right, you do. You're strong enough to run around during MLG's but not strong enough to see that people disagree with your opinion, even though even you said it was elitist. There you go, you voiced an elitist opinion and now people will view you as shit, but you quit anyway. You deserve all the criticism you get now, you could have taken this whole wave to get yourself places, but nope, you take the opinions of the internet to heart like a fool.
Keep in mind that this is a really foolish decision you've made, as if you change your mind and try to get back into the scene that no one will NOT be hesitant to take you. Especially if you can't take a little flak from people that disagree with you. Do you have any idea how much shit INControL, KellyMILKIES, or Moletrap gets? Let's say you think, oh, but i'm not casting for the GSL, who cares? You were a very essential member of the community, essentially helping us bridge the gap between "foreigners and Koreans", but if you can't take some criticism or being called a "retard", maybe this is for the greater good that you quit. Think about how much INControL gets shit on but he takes it as humor and carries on, KellyMILKIES, and Moletrap too.
This is me disagreeing with you, have a great life. '

God damn, this is some gay ass shit.
If you want to quit, do it. If you like what you do, and want to continue, do it.
Who cares what some fanboy say.
Even though it's true, saying only BW is real esports is retarded. Only SC2 isnt real esports, because that game is retarded!
Do what you want! Peace!

He deleted his Twitter, Reddit account, that blogging site account etc.

don't let the haters get to you. there will always be haters when you've reached a degree of success. this is especially true on the internet because there is no face to face interaction, which allows everyone to voice their opinions as rudely as they please. try not to take any of it too personally.
that being said, there are plenty of people that appreciate what you do for Esports. it is completely understandable to be nervous when there are hundreds of thousands of people watching. Most of the people bashing you would not be able to stammer out a sentence under that kind of pressure.
stay healthy and positive man. E-sports can take a hell of a lot out of you if you let it.

The good thing about this...hopefully we see more of you. Nothing against Milkis but you're much kinder on my eyes.

This thread is way too long, can someone post the link where milkis "trashed" other e-sports? Can't seem to find it.

even when you have the best intentions you will receive hate, that's just how the world is. And especially on the internet you shouldn't give a damn what some random dude on reddit thinks about you. you fell victim to the trolls and now they are rubbing their hands for making you feel bad.
btw this whole drama with i'm leaving, oh cruel world is very childish
