I actually find it interesting Blizzard managed to cover most of the bases that make for wonderful RTS using completely different methods than they used for BW.

Reading the argument I think both BW and SC2 have their own method of "zoning". It's just that the method SC2 uses to achieve this means are different from BW, and we can't really claim one method is better than the other. It's a matter of personal preference. While one used to the original low ground mechanics and area spells might digress, at least Blizzard "did it right" by inventing completely new way of zoning instead of being original and copying BW.

Thank you for trying to see the positives in both games.

It is almost impossible to compare BW and SC2 because the pros playing the latter have not reached their peak. They are different games which approach the same problems in different ways. I am so glad that blizzard decided to try something different for SC2. As we know if you want to play BW play BW. Instead of a new version of BW we have two great games that compliment each other.

Trying to remake BW would be insulting to those that still play it. BW doesn't need an upgrade it needs a worthy partner. Perhaps SC2 can be that, we won't know for a long time yet.

Edit: It will be interesting to see how many replies this gets compared to your previous blog.
