I think your logic sucks. Just because it takes you a certain period of time to accomplish something doesn't mean it takes other people a long time to accomplish it. If Starcraft II works anything like Brood War, then the majority of the player base probably doesn't even know how to improve. Judging by your estimation that is requires 20 hours a day for a month to just start learning the game makes it seem like so. Its not about how much you practice, its about how you practice. Moreover, my brother, who has no RTS experience, was seeded into Diamond (Whatever the rank two behind masters is...its the highest rank you can go into after playing your placement matches) and posted a record of over 50%, playing no more than 5 games a day. He was around rank 7 when the season ended in his league. He did this without really even studying the game. And why shouldn't the OP move quickly? What's the point of sitting down and waiting around. There is no point. If you really want to do something, you should set out and do it. The people who decide to do things slowly are the individuals who procrastinate. The most successful people in the world make decisions very quickly (And change them slowly) which causes them to move at a rapid pace in whatever they're doing.

I should team up with on this. I am very eager to hit masters but ive struggled finding the courage to power through the 1v1s. Ive been playing since beta and maybe played a total of 150 1v1 games. 50 as my current main race terran. I played the most protoss, some random and some zerg. I am playing high diamonds with two of my accounts but have trouble hitting that button. Wish you the best of luck and will watch your games!

Just mass gaming isnt the answer, watching VOD's and replays and having these "aha moments" where things just click, and when you gain a deeper understanding of certain things is very important to get better I remember some specific moments like that when i played BW when i had trouble beating C+/B- Zergs and then i studied some replays of Ret and Haypro, after that i could take down A- zergs on a good day

Edit: Result driven goals can be really hard on a person, and you even said that you would fail your friends if you didn't get promoted. I'm scared for your mental state if you don't make it.

But don't worry. If Kolll can get to B in 6 months in BW, anybody can get to Masters ezpz. You'll be fine! Abuse Terran OP! :D :D :D :D Or just drop your placement matches and get placed in Masters anyway.
