ok, so I've been suffering alot in pvt recently
Its usually the early game pushes that the terran does, and sometimes they seem to be able to out macro me, even though i would be on 4 bases (one gold). i had one game where I was 3-3-1 upgrade, and had a 200 army, with 70~ probes mining. and i moved in with my army, ff-ed, guardian shield, blink micro a bit, but my army dissappeared. im so depressed 
i even had a bit of archons in the mix. i think that either my positioning was bad, or something else
thanks to that i was pretty depressed about my pvt for a while, since if you read my earlier blogs im racing to get to plat ASAP, because me and my friend made a bet
ive tried one base colossus, and blink stalker push, adelscott pvt, but it just seems depressing. i usually just ignore people who whine about balance, but im starting to think after 1.4 something about terran is slightly broken.
buuuuuut even if they are broken, the brotoss still have to fight them.

I've been trying out a new bo for early game (vs ai though, battle.net down) with sentry and zealots
usually against very hard ai, i can hold off their standard first push with pure sentry zealot (i also fast expanded, at around 28~ food)
I found that before their first push comes, you can get warpgate and two gates, and be able to mass up at least 4 zealots and 3 sentries (ive gone 5 zealot 3 sentries once, but havent been able to do it again). the idea i have behind this opening is that you force field in the marines and marauders and zealot box, and kill their early push. usually this would work, but sometimes the push drags on and you have to pull probes, but I've been pretty satisfied with this opening so far
waiting to try it on ladder, im about 5 gold when i played yesterday/day before

your build is far from optimal but you are correct in thinking that an early expansion with added production is better at holding off many early pushes from terran, especially bio heavy ones and the 1-1-1. (the 2-1-1 with shields and medivac later expo and collo is better)
if you improve your macro and build so that you are making few mistakes (supply blocks, forgetting timings of gates), learning 1 gate FE will be worth its weight in gold. you can even chrono the stalker to poke and expo behind 2-3 units; adding 3 gates or 2 gate/robo at such a timing that you only have a small window of weakness which is going to be before any sane push.

Sounds like an interesting build! I'd be wary though-- you want to scout for terran cheese like banshee rush, as well, and be prepared to make a stalker or two. Maybe try to work in a reasonably early robo (perhaps after your expo) to get an observer out for scouting and detection? I hope you do well on the ladder, and come back with replays to share

I've seen HuK do sentry zealot, but if they do a reaper expand they can catch your first sentry and easily kill it off. Losing a gas heavy unitl that early in the game just sucks. Sentry zealot also requires above average forcefields to hold early pushes. Stalker zealot with just enough sentrys to FF/GS is better and more forgiving at the lower levels.
I'm glad you are trying out a new build, but they can look like silly losses if they use a reaper before any stalkers or enough sentries get out.

The way I see it, PvT is in trouble because of the late game, not a failed opening.
If you theoretically get a PvT with even everything (army, economy, etc.) the T will edge out. You get this Stim + EMP + Vikings, and what do you do? You need either Colossus or Archon/HT to thin out the Stim bioball, and EMP or Vikings take out Colossus and Archon/HT so efficiently. So either you sacrifice your tech as Protoss and try to get a more pure gateway army, which will still get wrecked by a Terran bioball with medivacs and EMP. So somehow Protoss need to get an edge in economy since their tech and army are not as useful. You gotta have more bases, more guerilla style. We basically have to do what Zergs do in ZvP.
You ask a Zerg the same thing about the matchup in ZvP, they'll say that their tech and army gets melted by the Protoss counter units. So they do "something" to get an edge. Protoss have to do the same thing, the Warp Prism is looking good right now, Void Ray fleet harassing looks good (they can mess up a base very fast), and overall this is good in my opinion. One of the major deficits of the Protoss play is the idea of a 3 base 200/200 army into an a-move. If we do this anymore, we will get smashed by a Terran with equal army and tech.

Yes banshee is definately the biggest counter to this build, as i generally don't get a robo before my 3rd or 4th gate, both of which are after my nexus finishes.
Reapers shouldn't actually be that hard, unless they are sent in conjunction with a mm push, because using a few probes with micro to force the reaper back, and sending a few sentries to kill it isnt that hard. you would be surprised how strong sentries are (1 sentry > 2 zerglings and 1 sentry > a roach)
early game pushes from terrans are actually pretty frightening, especially with the first pair of medivacs, because of stim + medivac, and even better with drops. late game..... ughs LOL
i've been using a lot of zealot bombing recently, since i noticed the protoss lack of good late game army (even though 200 protoss is supposed to > every thing else, since they're so frikin expensive). doing a lot of dt/archon/ht mixes, but haven't tried stargate units yet

If they do a reaper expand they will actually be able to snipe your first sentry if not a 2nd one that comes out. Most Protoss players go zealot stalker sentry, not only due to potential reaper, but also so they can poke up the ramp with stalker zealot to get a good idea of what is going on.
