Zerg macro problem

So TL, as zerg I am experiencing a regular problem in every game I play. I am a silver player just starting off, and I have chosen to start with a 14 pool 15 hatch build. And my biggest problem is too many minerals. Off the two bases and two hatcheries being injected I can support constant roach/ling production,but for some reason I'm still having crazy amounts of minerals. As in upwards of 3-4 thousand minerals at the end of the game. Right now I'm usually winning my games but I'm wondering, what can i do with all of the minerals?

If you have trouble spending the resources you can throw down more hatcheries for increased production. I think 2 saturated bases needs 3 hatcheries if you're making lots of lings.

Make another hatchery, another queen and another expansion with gas and transfer drones.

Guess what happens when and if you lose that expansion? You have enough minerals to not give a shit.

Make a macro hatch so you can make more units or more drones. If you want to attack, but have a bunch of larvae but no gas to make roaches or more, just make a lot of lings, dispensable units.

When you get decent two base saturation, but don't feel safe to take a third, make a macro hatch in your main base. Later, when you have a third or fourth, make a macro hatchery at your natural expansion too! Nothing wrong with floating minerals in the late game - you'll want to remax quickly, but you have to make sure you have enough hatcheries to use that money when your army dies.

Also, don't wait until your at 1k before you make that macro hatch.

Again, I wouldn't worry too much about having excess minerals once your maxed. Just make sure it stays low in the midgame, by making macro hatcheries, getting upgrades and so on. Zerg always feels short on gas. In the late game its not uncommon to see zerg players with one or two bases fully saturated on gas but only a few workers on minerals.

If your playing against terran you can drop spines to help defend drops. Against protoss you can make spines and spores to defend against dts. If you have the minerals to do it, might as well. It might not pay off all games, but you already have the spare minerals. ZvZ is so gas intensive, you can keep making drones and spines in key positions on the map. For example you can drop a bunch of spines in the middle of two pillars on Shakuras Plateau, certainly delaying your opponents army if you were to lose an engagement...

alright thanks so is extra minerals somewhat normal (i know not 3-4 thousand minerals but just in general)? it appears as long as i have enough gas i can do what i want, i almost never have an issue of too few minerals hence this blog post, but just trying to make sure that im not doing something catastrophically wrong.

ya throw down more hatcheries and queens, keep injecting. do you use hotkeys? if not, start it asap. with hotkeys you can just keep making making while not even looking

You will always have extra minerals in the later parts of the game because you gather more minerals than you can produce or keep up with (especially when the ceiling is 200/200).

Just keep expanding. Rough expansion timings for zerg- 2 10 16.
The better your injects are the less minerals you'll have. Compensate for rudimentary injection skillz with macro hatches. Cheers.
