Rekrul: straightforward and blunt, as always.

If HuK finally accepts your offer to take him out and show him around Seoul, let him know that he still has a lot of fan support! Someone on TS yesterday mentioned that EG is recruiting "results," and I somewhat agree, I think what they need is a solid professional coach that can command respect from the players (even IdrA) and keep individual egos in check.

When you're on somebody's nuts, you're harrassing them. But when you're on somebody's dick, you're sucking up to them. Somebody needs to standardize these metaphors.

Finally? It's been a recurring comment, even since before it was announced even if you check the hype thread.

But of course people will call HuK a sellout and even a traitor. If you've got real caring fans, you will get passionate responses... sure most are probably just fans of good SC2 or exciting esports in general, but for those who care about stars and team affiliations - negative comments will be typed and some would even argue that's the way it should be in a competitive scene.

This is a benchmark moment for non-korean players in the Starcraft world. The first time a major non-Korean player is switching from one big team to another 'big' team for big money. The very fact that this competition exists between major sponsored teams contesting to sign the top players is evidence of just how amazing the SC2 world will get.

It just shows that the raw marketing value of a player is there. How do you expect non-Korean players to compete at a Korean level unless they can focus on SC2 alone? They can't unless they have financial comfort. Now that comfort is coming in. Also, I don't know the specifics but I'd be willing to bet over half of his salary will be going towards paying for his travel expenses to all the tournaments: Which means more HuK for you guys to watch.

No one is to blame here. Not EG for having too much money, not TL for not having enough money (yet), and certainly not HuK. This is simply the way the world works.

As far as HuK is concerned: HuK is the most dedicated non-Korean player I have ever seen...in SC1 or SC2. And while his view of the world and how it works is a little too romantic for my tastes, the man has dedication. And while it was annoying at the time how he consistently rejected my offers to take him out in Seoul, I have crazy respect for it now. He worked hard to get where he is and he deserves every dime he can possibly get.

Not that anything I just wrote matters, because if you just read it either a. you already knew all this or b. you're a dumb fucken fan boy(girl).

Good luck to HuK in the future. And more importantly good luck to EG because only having two talented players on your team isn't going to win you any super bowl rings.

P.S. TLO is a pimp.

QFT. EG needs to send the rest of their team to Korea as well.
i don't think it's an issue of eg sending their team, they've shown they have the cash. it's about the players not wanting to play from korea as they lose out on potential cash they make from NA/EU tournies. basically they don't think it's worth it to be spending time in korea to compete for a spot in code a/s that's gonna net them way less cash. and of course they don't speak korean and all that rl jazz.
for there to be pro there has to be noob.

Not like any of the EG players who are staying in the US are going to be winning any NA/EU tournaments.

Ironically they might; since the sponsors want them to appear in foreign tournaments.
