People are uniformly and universally honest and genuine on the internet. I think you should just learn to be more accepting of these different viewpoints and love your fellow man.
Troll Mastah Gummy, i've missed you

OP should check out /b/ -- that's the real bridge under which the trolls live.

People think I'm a troll when I fervently hold a moral position... I hate that I'm expected to handle every argument like someone who wears a monocle.
Life is full of important things and when you defend a position you care about, "the Internet" frowns upon you. It's the whole "umad" culture which dictates that if you don't care, you autowin. It's easy for trash to call me a troll when I care.

Yeah, I strangely do not notice many of these examples :[]

I've seen a lot less trolls in TL than in other communities, actually. Here, when, they get too out of line, a mod slaps them pretty quickly.
They're usually actually somewhat funny, too.

HAHA yeah, I'll see something and go "PFFTTTTTT" or "EHEH", and almost go "awww" when the troll gets banned/temped.

Trolling is a art of saying something which another person feels is so wrong that he has to share his viewpoints very basicly.
It's incredibly easy to troll things like justin.tv chats, by going "lol gm na plat korea" in Destiny's chatroom when he was ladder locked in korea, because this will trigger 10 people to tell you ladder is locked and he's still fighting master players, ofcourse you can't do this anymore, but you usually get some reactions if you go balance whine.
There's 2 kind of trolls, i'll user balance whine as an example:
"infestoer so fcking imbalanced kil every terran unit n 2 fungals blizz neds to wake up n nerf that shit"
"Ever since the infestor buff, every graph has shown zerg dominating terrans in high levels, zergs were already winning most GSL's and then blizzard decides to buff them, zergs are fucking whiners and protoss and terran needs to step up and say something before every tournament is 100% zerg, so smart to make a unit which kills everything cheap with fungal and takes everything expensive with neural parasite"
Different kind of people will respond to different kind of trolls, ofcourse you have to take care not to sound too obvious, or people will discard you as a troll, the above examples are not terribly good, as usually you need to respond to something when trolling, and above all, trigger people to respond, remember dear trolls, the goal is to grab as much negative attention as possible.
If you want to troll teamliquid just write "wow mma new bonjwa" if he wins or something, or "holy shit mma for bonjaw trio with mvp & mc", it'll get some ol' sc1 folks riled up.

Trolling is... given far too much attention on TL. There are almost more threads and posts about (and accusing people of trolling as a part of the "argument") it than there is actual trolling.
Let the mods handle it and let it go. -_-

being stupid or annoying isn't trolling.
trolling is deliberately being an asshole in order to get a rise out of people.
all the types of posters you mentioned genuinely think they are helping in some way. Being stupid and annoying is trolling though you should probably look up trolling before making an absurd statement like that.
No joke

If you're not intentionally trying to 'catch' someone on your trollbait, you're not trolling. You're just being exasperating - hence why people often backpedal to 'LOL I WAS JUST TROLLING' after being called out for idiocy. It implies you're putting on an act to bait.

I thought of that post when I saw this one. Glad someone beat me to the punch!

Doing something like this gets you banned pretty quick.
then there is the one liner troll. he'll deal out that sage advice such as..... scout....or.....macro. is it true? well yeah but does it help....NO!
Not a troll. "scout" and "macro" is sound advice, though admittedly they could go into more detail since the poster probably doesn't know how to practice this.
you have the troll troll.....this guy is the crusader of the weak and destroyer of any unwise enough to incure his wrath. he sees some troll being stupid and instead of leaving it to the mods, decides that it is his divine destiny to put that punk in his place. well-meaning, probably. the only problem is that the back and forth bm fest that ensues totally destroys the post and may even get it closed.
Since when is backseat moderating trolling?
my personal favorite is the random other game troll. this special breed of idoit pops into a starcraft site full of starcraft players just to say: "starcraft sucks go play halo" normally this only gets a temp ban or such, which i would say is too lenient for being that brainless but i guess someone needs to be merciful.
Banned. Next.
there is a sub category of troll that exists. they are called the search tool troll. whenever a question arises that they deem to cliche they bm about how the poster is dumb and needs to quit wasting everyone's time and search. they are kind of the elitist of the forum world. now dont get me wrong, if someone is asking a question like need help with what is a good mech build or something that is easily searchable, then by all means use the search. but most of the time these posts are made asking for help with specific replays and cant be answered by someone elses post. i personally dont see the reason why someone took the time to say they dont have to time to answer a question. now i should add that some are a little more clever saying they are putting up the answer in the form of a link to the search page. this one always makes me laugh... :D
Probably the closest thing to a troll you've posted here. If you're posting a help thread you get good advice and bad advice. This is bad advice. Ignore it.
In conclusion, the internet is full of a variety of people - trolls included. Most of what you're talking about isn't a troll so much as a /b/tard getting their shots in before getting banned. The closest thing to a troll I can think of are the people who give terrible advice in help threads, but other posters normally prove them wrong.

Not all of his examples are invalid, there are definitely posters that try to counter-troll (or outright troll) poor posters or trolls to make their rage and idiocy visible to all. That's not backseat moderation, it's more like vigilante action.

how can you possibly be trolling you genuinely believe what you are saying and are not just saying something to get a rise out of people?
maybe they intersect at times, but the act of trolling is totally based on intent. Pretty much every single definition online disagrees with what you're saying
