Hello TeamLiquid! Today one of your lowly forum and community members learned a harsh harsh.. so very harsh lesson. Wake up every single goddamned day in time to shower, shave, and look your best no matter how late the NASL goes the night before. For some of you who followed reddit today, I am no doubt sure that you saw This Image and, alas, I am in fact red shirt guy =(
First and foremost.. I believe it is important to make it clear that I do not have man boobs. the lighting is terrible and i spent 10 minutes making sure in the mirror when I got back to the hotel.
Going into the interview I had no clue it was live, being aired, to everyone out there. I was joking around, only to learn a few minutes later that the internet had struck and that Lindsey and I had become victims. Over the course of the day I had the chance to talk to her and get to know her a lot better. As she has commented on her twitter, Lindsey in fact got called in for this job on very short notice. She is also having a blast the tournament and has a fantastic sense of humor, acknowledging her own shortcomings but working to learn more about the game and the community.
Later during todays tournament I actually met the artists and perpatrators of "the sign" who in fact were trying to have fun but didn't realize how horribly they were trolling Lindsey or how the community was responding to her early day interviews, and I got a wonderfulpicture of them together. I am not the red shirt guy in this picture =(
I would like to just say that Lindsey is an incredibly sincere, humble and intelligent person in real life, and that just because she was hired for being pretty, there can still be a more to a person. I thought that it would be fitting after todays events for me to sit down and interview her as an "ordinary" member of the Esports and TeamLiquid community and Lindsey has been positive about the idea.
I think that the community should give her a chance to do her work and prove herself if she makes an effort and actually wants to be a part of the Esports scene. I hope that an interview can be arranged and that the community will give this young woman a chance, because really.. who isn't tired of lookin at dudes all day ^_^
Anyway, some badass NASL finals are coming up tomorrow, everyone who can come should be here, these guys have turned the live venue around completely after Day1, today was an incredible day from start to finish and the NASL deserves some real respect for what they've managed to do here.
Imma go do like a billion situps and pushups and squats so I feel less self-conscious, and let this be a lesson to take care of yourselves and always look your best, and support gaming as a part of a healthy lifestyle.
Take Care TeamLiquid! -Redshirt guy

Haha shame that I missed that, quite unfortunate turn of events for you, but glad to see that you can take it in stride and find optimism in your misfortune.
I just learned the same lesson today! On a smaller, much less embarrassing scale though.
I was just planning on having a nerd day, in my room watching NASL. But then I had to babysit my nephew a bit. Buddy came over with his sister (my age) who I never met before and I was there looking all ugly and ungroomed. TT
Luckily I said some funny shit to the guy before either of them saw me so I think she still kinda dug me!
Like I said, I hope tomorrow the venue is packed to capacity so tight that MC can go crowd surfing. NASL deserves a medal after today and its in everyones interest to show them all love and support for the great work they've done.
It's funny that you posted that you were the "red shirt guy" and I remembered exactly who you were. I did not remember you by your "man boobs," but by the way you talked. I expected yet another awkward interview like the ones before your when I saw you, but I was pleasantly surprised that you were articulate, inteligent, and had a sense of humor. I had just got done telling a friend on skype that I was tired of watching audience interview until yours changed my opinion from "this is stupid" to "this isn't so bad." So kudos to you. I enjoyed your brief interview very much and appreciate you introducing yourself.
God damn I haven't actually seen Lindsey do an interview, but that pic seems to show she has at least some value! Really, how much strategy does an interviewer need to know?
oh i thought you were the same red shirt guy in both pics and I was like... wow, lighting makes that big of a diff? But I just took a closer look and the shirts are different...
I remember I was only kinda watching during those interviews, and I glanced up and saw me gusta; then I actually started listening and paying attention haha. You, along with like everyone else, had really entertaining interviews actually. (She even interviewed someone I knew from RIT's CSL team, I was pleasantly surprised!) Also the Lindsey and Anna 10 second 'interview' was pretty awesome, and that 1 tweet Kennigit made was hilarious .

I have no idea what the megusta is or how a picture being spread on the internet is like. But I don't think you are being fair on yourself. Dance summed it up perfectly. Within seconds I had to swallow my laughter from the previous interview because I realized. You we're doing great. Not awkward, made good jokes, laughed, spoke well. Was interesting and fun especially compared to the other interviews. So at least take that with you. It stands separate from the picture thingy and enjoy the rest of the event!
Haha I thought you were one of the better interviewee's tbh, confident and articulate rather than much of the shuffling around next to a pretty girl that happened in other interviews xD
A sorry for playing that race joke to start helped =p
You seem like a cool dude, hope you have fun at the event! :D Also, I hope Lindsey doesn't get turned off by the SC2 community, but instead will stay and learn about sc2 and have some fun.
