I am currently a Silver player who has beaten Gold players regularly and the rare Platinum player. I normally play Zerg but I have just switced to Terran because I am currently severely disliking the way Zerg's mechanics actually work, particularly as far as injects and the overreliance on scouting and building up an economic advantage before an army. I originally considered Protoss but my PvT and PvP (my two worst P matchups) are much worse than my TvZ and TvT (my two worst T matchups.
I wish to do an experiment (This felt most appropriate as a blog post). I am going to do the following over the next few weeks:
- Play ladder and custom maps as Terran.
- Analyse my replays after losses.
- Follow the guidelines in more recent Day[9] Dailies and point out what happened that was wrong, why it was happening and very specific instructions on how I should remedy it.
- Post the results, and a selection of important replays in the blog,
However, I leave everyone with many questions on how I should actually conduct this experiment:
- How many ladder games should I be playing per day? 5 feels a little bit small while around 15+ feels very excessive.
[*[How much time should I be spending on replay analysis, especially if I am aiming to improve by a league or several leagues in terms of skill level.
- I may consider uploading all replays per day but for now, I would only upload important losses where I feel I made severe mistakes which I'd correct. It's that feel a little bit bad about flooding a replay site with a load of individual replays. Does anybody know any websites dedicated to replays that let you upload replay packs or do I have to use regular download sites and ZIP files like Megaupload/Rapidshare/Mediafire?
- What would be a good time frame to release updates? Daily? Every few days? Weekly?

1. As much as you can really. 5 is kinda small, but 10 is already someting. The more you play, the more you have to analyze, the more you improve. But nota that your performance will decrease after a large amount on time spend playing - this time varies, it might be an hour or 3, depends on you. 1*. I think Day9 made a daiy on analyzing replays. Just check what he wants you to focus on and browse thru the replay checking those things out. Dont bother watching replays of winning games, unless it's a luck win, BO win or some other unusual factor. Still, there's no fixed time you should be spending on analyzing the replay. 2. Nope. 3. Daily is way too often and (depending on number of games) does not really give you much to analyze. I'd say weekly, seems a good amount of time to show a measureable improvement.
Best of luck.

Good luck with the laddering. At the very least, treat it as a weight loss goal and show us before and after results, and what leagues you are and will be in.
Weekly is fine.
