I used to have a stream that I rarely updated in which I talked about WoW and the various fights, patches, etc. Now that I've drifted away from WoW, I've really let my stream die, just because I wasn't sure what to cover on it!
However, now I am considering restarting it. I've gotten a number of requests to start a stream, but I am not quite sure what to stream about. I could give brief reviews on video games, but I fear I would run out of games to review fairly quickly. I could make sort of a "Craft Time with Riku" stream (Rikucraft?), where I covered basics of working with material for cosplay and other creations, but I don't feel like that would really interest my general audience.
Admittedly, I've lost my expertise when it comes to WoW, I really couldn't cast SC matches well, I don't feel confident enough in my League capabilities to analyze it decently, and... yeah! I'm just not sure what to do!
So, I've come to my audience for advice and input!
Should I start a stream?
What times/days would be good?
What should I cover?
Should I have "themes" (like Funday Monday, etc) and what should they be?

What do you enjoy enough that you'd like to share with other people?
I think the biggest challenge to overcome will be finding something you like enough to show up every day.
Do you enjoy talking about SC2? Then do it.

As long as you're interested in what you're doing, and can say interesting things about it, it should be fairly entertaining.
|
Have you tried StarCraft? I hear TeamLiquid is quite fond of it .__.

Hmmm this is a good question. I would suggest looking at all the other successful/featured streams on tl and trying to find something they have in common

Hmmmm, now what could it be? :p
Just do whatever you think would be fun to stream, and that you'd enjoy. Don't cater to an audience, just do what you want.

It's gotta be Brood War or League of Legends :B

I'd recommend against streaming just to have a stream -- if you really want people to get something out of it, having a really razor-sharp focus on what you're trying to put out there is essential. That's going to focus your own thinking about what to prepare for it, and it'll improve the quality of what you're streaming as well.
Obviously (since you were asking about what would be good content) you're thinking about these issues, just wanted tor reinforce that thought a little bit.

I've an idea: Start with a starcraft showmatch. You versus someone.

100% approve LOL
Unless you are going to put set time frames and make a professional show, I wouldn't worry about it. Just play your games and do whatever you normally do and if it is interesting people will watch. I find myself watching those "misc" streams where people are playing the most random games/ doing random stuff, more so than SC itself.

Haha, well, the first few posts had good recommendations, I'll definitely consider them in the next few days and see about maybe getting TL to recognize my stream so I can post the link without it getting removed.
As for the Starcraft casting, I think I'll leave that to Sean...
Also, who is Ruki?

Abso fucking lutely! Streaming is an excellent way to show your true bare self off to the SC2 community! The written word can be kind of limiting sometimes. With all your blogs, I'm sure just putting some time into a stream would really allow you to let loose. As for time of day, later at night would be best as people are winding down from there long hard days. Whatever you do would be a fantastic change from all the grinding going on in the sc2 streams. Content really shouldn't be a problem for you. Perhaps we should even discuss what you shouldn't cover... as sometimes focusing your thoughts leads to better discussions! Perhaps even discuss what it is like to be our resident Lady liquid-TL... oh that can be like your nickname. I'm sure though most people would be annoyed at such a title.
