Let's start off with a more serious issue before moving on to the fun stuff...

Jaehoon’s Situation

I mentioned this before but I thought I should put this in the MBC updates blog…
Toward the end of last season, Jaehoon had decided to quit progaming. But when Mumyung took over in August, he had a talk with Jaehoon and persuaded him to stay on for another year to give progaming one last shot. At the end of this season, Jaehoon’s contract with MBC runs out and he becomes a Free Agent. Hopefully there will be a new contract offered and Jaehoon will decide not to retire. But we’ll see what happens. So MBC fans, just be mentally prepared. 주장님 가지마세요!

A Tribute to Zerg[kal]

Zerg[kal] won on his debut Proleague appearance and against his former team, no less! See the joyful pictures here:

The whole team was really excited for him. Jaehoon couldn’t even sit down during the game.

Too bad MBC didn’t win the SKT match so Zerg[kal] didn’t get an interview on his debut. However, less than a week later he backed it up with his second win in 3 appearances! It’s been a rough season for Zerg[kal] because his father passed away in a car accident in winter.

Although Tiny, Sang, Check and Lazy didn’t manage to get wins on their debuts, I hope they learn from their experiences and get more chances to prove themselves.

Does Tyson not like the rain?

Tyson doesn’t like rainy days much, he frequently makes comments about the weather on twitter. According to Hyun, Tyson’s hair also gets very poofy when wet so he tries to avoid going out when it’s raining, as much as possible.

MVPZerg’s visit

MBC players got the night off on 30th March, so MVPZerg came to visit. He was on a short break from the army. He’s aged a lot since entering the army, MVPZerg. In March, Koala also came to visit when he was on a break from the army. MVPZerg and Koala were former MBC players who left during the last off-season, they can be seen in some episodes of "Hyungjoon Becomes a Progamer".

Mother Zerg

According to Sea, Hyun cooked ramyun for Sea and Saint again last week. And that’s where Sea’s nickname for Hyun came from, because he takes care of his teammates like that.

Yoga Mat

Besides gaming, the other passions in Hyun’s life are reading and sports/exercising. He jumps rope regularly and some time ago, he bought a yoga mat too. Perhaps he was inspired by the yoga session MBC took part in during their workshop?

Jaehoon’s friend

The Fomos caption read “the two players seem close”. Apparently one went to spy on the other team to see which players were looking at the maps. So I guess Jaehoon is friends with Calm. This was something I didn’t know before because Calm rarely mentions players from other teams.

Godians

Hyun sounded confident the night before his game against Bogus. He told Light: “watch my winning appearance tomorrow ~^___^v”. And Hyun certainly didn’t disappoint. He had another interesting build planned and this time it worked. And so a new word was coined- Godians. That’s what you call Hyun’s Guardians, according to MBC Caster Kim Chul Min. So far, from MBC commentators, we have: Goberman, Go Chuno (slave-hunter), Godian, Go-drunked and Go Bonjwa.

Hyun, the orange shuttle?

Shark bought some oranges and gave Hyun a ring, asking him to bring them up to the hostel. So Hyun said he became “an orange shuttle”. A journalist noona, who is friends with the team, tweeted Hyun: "I need an orange shuttle too~~~~~~~~" [T/N: what?]. Hyun replied: "ㅋㅋㅋ oranges are expensive, expensive ㅡㅡㅋ".

A "Pink man"?

Well that’s what Hyun calls Tyson. Pink earphones, pink iphone case and he likes the girl-group A Pink too. Tyson listens to music often and quotes lyrics on twitter.

Sang’s Birthday and The Black Hole

It was Sang’s birthday on the day of the STX match and Hyun tweeted: 내 이름은 하재상 오늘은 내생일이다 ㅇㅅㅇ! (My name is Ha Jae Sang, today is my birthday) After the match ended, some of his hyungs treated Sang to a chicken meal. Hyun tweeted some photos from their supper.

Hyun called Tyson a “black hole” because after eating the chicken meal, Tyson went shopping at Homeplus and then came back to the hostel to eat ramyun at 2am.

2 days later, Hyun said Tyson ate spaghetti for dinner and then donuts during the break time, followed by supper later.

When he went on “User’s Taste” (an MBCGame variety show) in winter, Hyun also mentioned that Tyson and Jaehoon really eat a lot. Hmm… but I also recall Hyun himself eating for 4 straight hours when he went for dinner with Sura in April. lol

Supper Time at MBC House

MBC players mostly eat quite often. They usually have supper around 9-10pm and some snacks in between their other meals too. Here are some pictures of them having supper on different days that Hyun tweeted over the past several days…

HERO vs Stars Post-Match

MBC might not have as many fans as the bigger teams, but the players are pretty accessible to fans.

Here are some pictures from a fan meeting after the Woongjin match, courtesy of HERO Gallery. They turned out quite well. Check is smiling more these days.

According to fans… this is Hyun’s “seonbae (senior) pose”...

A short report from HERO gallery about the fan meeting:
This was the first HERO fan meeting Mumyung attended. Mumyung was like a celebrity and many HERO fans wanted to meet him. He seemed tired but he still friendly and signed autographs and took photos with the fans… Wow was very talkative, Sang was well-spoken and Check was very quiet.

Players are often given the rest of the day off after a Proleague match, certainly if they win their match. So after the Woongjin match, Tyson and Tiny went to Times Square to watch a movie. To their surprise, when they got there they saw Hyun, Zerg[kal] and Sang in front of them!

The Roommates

Other than Light and Saint, who were roommates for 5 long years, players usually change rooms once in a while. In the past, Hyun, Ruby and Shark were roommates and Pusan once roomed with Jaehoon and then Sea etc. This season, the two funniest MBC players are roommates. That’s right, Tyson is rooming with Hyun. This has resulted in lots of laughter for fans.

Tyson and Hyun often tweet about each other at night, sometimes before they sleep… even though they’re roommates. lol Tyson once said “Seokhyun hyung is my roommate and he’s always so funny. Such happiness!”

Tyson also made similar statements like these:

"Seokhyun hyung ah so funny… his expressions change like an actor… joker yah joker…"

"ㅋㅋㅋ Ah Seokhyun hyung is really funny…….ㅋㅋㅋㅋ a real gagman…"

And THE gem thus far...

“I think the smell of Seokhyun hyung’s fart has paralyzed my nostrils.” lol lol

ugh, It would be a Shame if MBC wrtr to lose Jaehoon, he is currently actually doing quite well(Destroying many FPL teams in the process), hell MBC is doing quite oke even without Light currently.

They have alooooooooooooooooooooot of pizza tho,I want :>.

Btw, who is that rookie giant?(the guy is both taller and larger then even (P)

Is it Sang? He's quite a big guy but not as tall as Kal. Sang is around 183cm. We had a really tall rookie called Gwak (same height as Kal) but he left MBC recently.

Yes, yes, I hope Jaehoon signs a 3 year contract with MBC after this season and then when Pusan goes off to the army in 3 years time, Jaehoon can sign another contract to become a coach for MBC!

Jaehoon doing well now.Hope he will stay with MBC. and the last picture..been chose as today MVP which is awesome imo for Jaehoon. I saw a new Jaehoon now.

Myumyung smile = how precious is to see his smile :D

Check seem shy and zerg(kal), see he doing good now ( His win vs s2 was awesome) :D
He grew a lot since become part of MBC. that was MVPzerg? cz when I see the pictures ( cz I almost not recognize him at all), wonder who and yes, i remember he from KHJ become progamer.

Recently, when I watch Jaehoon's games, it really feels like MBC acquired a totally new player. So many things have changed about Jaehoon this season.

MVPzerg said on cyworld that army life is really hard but he is surviving.

Check and Wow have very different personalities, one is very shy, the other one is talkative. It's a nice contrast. In time, I believe they will become the backbone of MBC's zerg line.

Thanks Ryo! Hyun seems to be quite the twitter addict. I also hope MBC renews its contract with Jaehoon, he has stepped up in the last few games. MBC is getting along okay with Light gone but if Jaehoon goes too I think they'll have a really hard time. It's great to see their rookies being fielded in games. MBC Fighting!

I shouldn't have read this one hour before lunch, now I want pizza.....

Wow, I'm so glad that Jaehoon decided to stick with progaming since he's had a much better run this season. Now, even if he does decide to retire, he won't have to retire in shame. It would have been sad if he left on the note of his last season...
