... wow, we have the exact same car. First time I've ever met someone with that old hunk. 
Nothing much to say except you're in the wrong and you know that, and the best thing to do would be to contact the owner and make amends. Otherwise you may be constantly paranoid and hoping they don't figure out it's you.

mistakes happen all the time,you don't need to feel guilty,but if you really want to feel better just find the owner of that car and pay for damages.

Because you have a conscience and i can respect that, so I will say some things but not force you to do anything. Imagine if that was your car that someone hit, wouldn't it suck? Yes. To be honest, I would probably go back. Here's the reason why, guilt is the first and personal thing. I'm not sure how your morals and ethics are, but judging from your conscience i assume that they are good. Second, even though you didn't see any cameras, there could be some around and you didn't catch them, which could get you in serious legal troubles. Talk to your dad more about the situation and then go from there. It's one of those issues where you should talk to your parents about.
Edit: i was the first one to reply, i went to get some soda and 3 replies came after i posted lol, also hawaiianpig's advice is quite nice too, lol not the running like hell part though. Offer to pay, tell him/her the story. Any understanding non-asshole would love for you to pay for it and not need to involve the insurance. Shit I'd be happy as hell if someone hit my car, came back and offer to pay for the damages. Accidents happen. Good luck bro

That conversation with your father is priceless. If you honestly feel guilty you should probably do the right thing and contact that person, as what you did is considered a hit and run. However since you are already at home and ready to go to sleep, it must already be off your conscience so don't worry about it I suppose.

If there was no evidence that you were the culprit, just drive home. I wouldnt feel guilty, thats how it works, I must be a heartless bastard.

I think I ran into a somewhat similar situation several months ago when I accidentally backed up my SUV into a parked sedan. My car had almost no damage, yet I had owned up the sedan's door pretty badly. I went directly to the owner's house, and we arranged the insurance stuff about the accident. It was an awkward hour, but they seemed very nice about it.
Obviously, the right thing to do is to find the owner of that car and just talk to them about the situation. They are people, too, so they should be quite understanding of any situation or story that you tell them about the situation.
Though you'll probably have to get insurance involved in this, it's at least better than having to live on with guilt or the possibility of being involved in a hit and run case.

I'd have to encourage you to pay for the damages. I'd be so pissed off if someone hit and run my car, especially since I can't afford to get it fixed to begin with. Then again there's only so much I can expect from humanity.

Next time, you should probably leave a note with your phone number and an explanation. Just imagine if you were the person with the damaged car.
However, I understand that if you are having financial troubles and couldn't afford the insurance hike or to pay for the damages outright, it's not always reasonable for you to take the punishment.
Still, it's ok, accidents happen. I've been on the receiving end in one accident and I've been the responsible party in another. The guy I hit seemed kind of pissed at me, I was 17 and he was the dad of a 16 year-old, so that might have had something to do with it. But when I was hit, I was really nice to the woman, and my car was fixed up and looked better afterwards anyways, all free of charge to me. Oh I also rear-ended another woman but we talked and saw that neither car had any visual damage so we just went on our way. She was really nice.
Just relax, and realize most people are understanding if you are honest with them. However, not everyone will be nice to talk with, but you've gotta face those kinds of people in life some time anyways. Plus, doing the right thing just feels a lot better in the end, at least for me.
Edit: Also, I'm not too knowledgeable about car mechanics, but you might wanna get your car checked for your own safety.

This probably wont help but a while back someone ripped a huge scratch/dent right up the left side of my 1993 Mitsubishi GTO while parked at Mcdonalds. I was soooo gutted. Worse feeling in the world seeing the huge scar up my car. I was really mad they they didn't leave a not or anything even as an apology. It ended up costing me around $1300 to get fixed.
A few weeks later I hit someone in a car park in a super market. (After already getting my car fixed T.T) Remembering how bad I felt when I was hit I hung around till they owner came out and told her what happened, gave her my address/phone number/ect. She called me the next day saying not to worry about it. ( She said I looked so scared when giving her my details she felt sorry for me >.>)
Really its up to you how you want to deal with it. Just thought Id share my story =)

I did a hit and run one time, but the fucker was parked directly in front of a no parking sign, basically blocking me in. I didn't see him cuz I was driving a van and he had some little Pontiac. Sucks for him, but he probably should park in an actual spot. He didn't learn his lesson though, saw him back at the same spot the next week.
On topic, go back to the scene in a different vehicle and check thoroughly for cameras. If there were cameras and they bust you for hit and run you are gonna be really fucked.

It's clear the owner of the SUV is at fault here. He should not have parked his car there and have you hit it.

Well you should be fine if they didn't notice right away, but it being near a hospital there is probably a CCTV watching. I would have just left a note with your info on it.
I hate people who do hit and runs tbh. Pissed me off when it happened to me.
I hope your grandmother in the hospital is fine, but your dad seems to lack some morales.
