Just as sanZenith is starting to gain notoriety and respect for his recent play, could it all be short lived? For a player that in a recent match against Terran didn't make a single Collusis or Immortal the removal of the amulet may destroy his play style.
or will it?
Personally I think he will be able to adapt simply because he is used to getting pounded on. He has "snake blood" as Artosis put it. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger sorta deal. He plays on the razors edge of having just enough units to survive. Actually switching and massing an army may be refreshing for him.

You never know ...
like MKP, his style was pure Marines, but now he got a mix ... ^^~

I'm of the belief that there's a lot going on behind the scenes in the minds and practice of great players that we don't see; so what we see televised are just glimpses into their brilliance, like the undeniable sparkles of far away stars borne from fusion more furious than we can know.
Specifically, players demonstrate styles of play for many reasons, and "player is capable only of doing x" is never one of them. I'm sure San will impress just as much even after 1.3, even if he needs to tweak his play. The best players are constantly finding ways to improve and adjust in order to win; balance patches aren't the only impetus for such growth.

He'll learn soon enough that 'C' is for collossus.
I mean, he basically has to, right?

We all will. High Templar are no longer going to be a backbone unit, but rather a support unit.

I thought this post was about him having military service. I'm curious if his cheese defense has gotten better. It was pretty sick how he lost a Bo3 in 10 minutes.

I don't even know if he'll be competing after patch 1.3. Isn't he going to the army soon?

And MKP is down at up/down matches now ~~

I giggled when MKP tried to go mass marines vs InCa

Well, San did try to go Colossi during match 1 on Metalopolis, but his Robo Support Bay got sniped before he could build any out of his newly constructed double Robo facilities.
I think San will definitely find a way of persevering despite the removal of the Amulet upgrade. Although High Templar were an integral part of his style, nerfing them won't necessarily make his style obsolete despite weakening it.
I'm sure he'll find a way of maintaining his whack-a-mole style of expanding and his ability to harass like no other.

The transition from using high templars to massing colossi is probably gonna be a lot easier than transitioning from losing in under 5 minutes into owning some of the best players in the world
That said , he was probably never as bad as advertised because he was always cheesed out ( oh inca you devil and i hope huk knows all your tricks inside out) and he might not have to worry about the patch because he is going to army very soon no?
|
huk is pure cheese and abuse too so inca will probably win anyway

You're assuming that whatever on the PTR will actually be patched as you expect. People are bitching about the KA removal to be too extreme of a nerf - it's likely that blizzard will not make HT completely unusable and that san-Zenith may not have to make such an extreme playstyle change. Regardless, I think that you'll see some colossus and immortals in his near future play - the tech switch from HT to colossus can actually be devastating in PvT

Even if the amulet is removed...the same turtle templar is playable. The only difference will be you pre-emptively make them at your expansion with cannon flowers, rather than the immediate instant your expansion is being attacked.
