I have plans to return to the Sorrowsong and patch her up before bringing her into the game. Meanwhile, I hacked together a new Anahn heavy frigate/destroyer. This ship ended up being about 9.2k quads when finished.
A few days ago I attempted the Spirestorm, a UD supership, and subsequently failed. This is as far as I got.
If it weren't impossibly difficult for me to model off of concept art I'd probably be able to finish the entire Anahn line within a week or two. Unfortunately, I don't really know anything about modeling, so anything outside of just extruding and hoping for the best is still a pipedream. At least through the Wormwood I learned how to abuse bridging to create messes like that seen with the Spirestorm, but so long as the UD "texture" remains the way it is ingame you won't even see those details from most angles.
For the time being I'm just bouncing around ships, patching up the DyiithJhinn Mel-type Dreadnaught for later implementation into the mod, wrapping up the UD Sorrowsong and putting it in the game, and hacking up the old symmetry Salvation from AO and turning it into the new UD Blood Tornado.
Both the Sorrowsong and the Blood Tornado are ingame and functional with SFX and particles.
The Sorrowsong is the one with the three red eye-like beam weapons, and the Blood Tornado is the medium sized ship to the right.
You'll notice that unlike in the video, these ships have no shading at all. To be honest, the way this game handles materials and shading is a total mystery to me, and when dealing with something like the Undead's set of textures (or lack thereof), oddities like this happen quite a lot... but perhaps it looks better than before? Unfortunately, much of the detail on ships like the Wormwood and Blood Tornado are lost with this "new" appearance.
