So, I decided that a 23" Samsung monitor for $139.99 was an unpassable deal! Thus, I journeyed to the far away land of Best Buy at the early hour of 4 am in hopes of getting one before they all sold out.
Alas, I arrived at Best Buy at 4:30 am and there was a line. Oh well, turn the corner.
Well fuck, the line keeps going? ok... next corner. .... please now you can't be serious, another corner?
So I end up walking for about 3 minutes, passing at minimum 10 people per 4 seconds (I counted kind of). So, using 2x the density count as an upper bound, there must've been 750-1500 people there when I arrived! Considering how many people showed up after I did, there was quite the crowd there.
But... I GOT THE MONITOR FUCK YEA.
And now I browse TL on my secondary monitor (21.5" Acer) while watching GSL on my lovely new 23" Samsung. The size difference is actually not distracting, since the Samsung has extra protrusions towards the bottom, which causes an even feel overall, when placed next to my 21.5" monitor.
You guys should totally get one if there are any left at your local Best Buy. They are sold out online!

P.S. got a free chick fil-a breakfast for my troubles lol.

haha i also just got back from a Black friday adventure But for some reason the line at office depot was really short although i did get there 2 hrs early. But it was still a fairly short line when i got in the store. But yea I got a lenevo laptop for $399 and the original price was 540$ so im pretty excited to check it out after i wake up lol. going to bed now bye.
Oh, and u can check my previous blog asking about laptops if u want lol. I just decided 399$ was too good of a deal to pass up for a laptop when netbooks even go at like 200$-400$

Blasphemy, how can you buy a laptop that doesn't have at least a gpu equivalent of an nvidia 460?
Although, I do agree with you on one important matter. Time to pass out lolol.

Hmm, I could use another monitor. If only I had the money/will to wait in line. D:
My experience was fairly disappointing. Went to Wal-Mart at 11:55 with ads in hand, as they were supposed to price match. Wanted to get Killzone 2, a DS Lite, Scribblenauts1/2, and possibly a WoW BC. Lines were absolutely crazy, didn't get a copy of Killzone 2, DS sale starts at 5 (was going to try to get an early price match with a K-Mart ad, but didn't want to wait in line.) Went to a smaller Wal-Mart, and it was just as busy.
So now I'm at home, and checking Amazon periodically. Though the main draw of getting stuff at Wal-Mart was that I have a bit of cash and wouldn't have had to put anything on the credit card.

That's a great deal for sure. Samsung is one of the best monitor and TV brands out there. They would normally sell monitors of that size for around $200.

I bought a 21.5" (emachines, but w/e) for 100 dollars Needed a DVI to VGA adapter, but my dad randomly had one so lucky me :D

I work in retail tonight, i'm sure i will be cleaning up a disaster zone by then
|
I snagged one of the $99 19 inch tv's at Walmart and a $50 1tb external harddrive from staples for backups
i stopped going to best buy, lol. It's pretty horrendous - you gotta wait like an hour to checkout b/c of the hundreds of people

Thats a bad monitor to be honest. 8ms response time. Cyber monday you can get one with 2-5ms for the same price on newegg or tigerdirect
|
I went to Cabazon outlets and snatched some Vans and two pairs of Levis for like a total of $80 :>
ridiculously cheap. I think I saved like $60-70 rofl

I was expecting an epic Manifesto style blog about shopping. I am somewhat disappointed.
Congrats on your purchase though.

I woke up early to purchase Fallout New Vegas for $35 on Amazon. That was pretty much it.

My black friday experience: - check out deals on memoryexpress.com - buy benq 24" monitor for $139.99 online - free shipping - profit (if i decide to sell it... probably not though since i'm in a serious need for an upgrade)
I also decided to get a microsoft lifecam cinema for $39.99 from the same site. Pretty good day, until i find out they're selling these for a lot cheaper on monday or boxing day
edit: here's the link for the monitor if anyone is interested in buying one... free shipping for canadians only though

all right, this might sound really weird, but I went and waited outside of old navy w/ some friends just to wait in line and get the experience. I ended up buying a really nice coat I've been needing and a shirt which matches w/ blue jeans but somehow makes them seem formal. 50% off! w/e though.
this morning I got a $550 suit I've been keeping my eye on for ~$179, except my dad decided to come along and bought it for me. coo
