Look if you haven't seen this movie yet, DONT
This is a spoiler s do not read if you want to see it.
What a piece of shit movie, now when I say that I truly mean it. I've been a fan of Alien invader movies since I was a kid, you name it and I've seen it, probably more times than you, so it hurts me to be so blunt about a movie I REALLY REALLY wanted to see. I mean it has the classic storyline of Alien invaders wanting our planet and all the cool CGI effects of modern day computers, what's not to like right?
Everything.
Literally, everything.
Once you get passed the oh so poor acting (Which is somewhat forgivable in this genre to an extent, and is almost expected) You then have to deal with the retarded script, for example; There is a scene in the beginning where all the blue light things are coming down, causing havoc and basically kicking everyones ass, the black dude proceeds to stand up and proclaim "We gotta go outside and check this out". Not even bullshitting you, then the girls in the room proceed to protest and the black guy looks to his friend in approval, they grab a gun and off the go outside to see what's going on. Fuck looking out the window discretely, lets grab a gun and try and fight some blue light with it, fucking genius.
Script aside, the god damn plot holes and story line inconsistencies are laughable. Example; As some of you may have seen one of the trailers, it shows one of the Alien ships being blown up, and crashing. Well it just so happens that motherfucking alien ship got NUKED, literally nuked by a F1-17A stealth bomber I think, or something that looks similar to it, the ship crashes and hope is restored, until the fucking ship manages to start repairing itself, using human brains as a sort of computer I guess, yeah the aliens literally rip out your god damn brain, and insert it into themselves and use it to sustain themselves and apparently repair one of their motherships, okay whatever, I can go with that. So the nuke doesn't work and all hell breaks loose again with aliens snatching up every human they can.
Did I mention they watch the nuke go off from their window, no aftershock, no shockwave, no broken windows, they were literally less than a mile from the impact and no ill effects came from the nuclear blast.
15-20 minutes later, the main characters; one guy and girl, are on the rooftop of one of the tallest buildings in LA (or so it seems) because they think it's the safest place to be. Yeah that would be my first choice too, let's get as close to these fucking alien mothershps as we can, we will be fine.
So the inevitable happens and one of the drones finds them, one of the drones that can repair itself and functions on human brains etc, the guy literally starts fighting the half mechanical half biological monstrosity with is bare fucking hands (oh did I mention this guy looked into the light 2 times and now has super powers...yea he does) So as hes beating on this thing, literally punching it in the face and bashing it in the head with a cinder block, he rips some of it's insides out and it dies.
Now that's what I call a close encounter
A nuke won't kill em' but I'll rip em' apart with my bare fucking hands, nice one.
So basically the movie is about an hour and a half of these people trying to escape to the water and get on a boat and leave the apartment they're trapped in, people die in the process and the end up back in the apartment the movie starts out in, everyone gets sucked up into the alien ships, we cannot defeat them.
The main character wakes up in the mothership and his brain is removed and put into an alien vehicle or suit or something, all of the other brains are blue, his is red.
He somehow still controls this alien suit or whatever the fuck it is and he saves his girlfriend from having her brain taken and the movie suddenly ends with this guy facing off against an unknown number of alien brain suits, the end.
What a load of fucking shit, please I beg of everyone, do not buy into the hype, this movie is utter garbage. Literally the worst movie I have ever seen, period, bar none.
I should have gone to see Due Date like my girlfriend wanted
