I didn't even know that was a nuke at the moment it happened. I was like "whoa that was a big blast for such a small missile" until like 20 minutes later they said something about "do you really think the government cares about us if they were willing to send a nuke?" And like the OP said, that's because there were no shockwaves or anything like that. The nuke literally just hit the mothership, and proceeded to only do damage to the mothership. On December 06 2010 04:27 a176 wrote: that entire drone battle in skyline was the only good part of the movie. god that battle was so epic, albeit short Really? I thought it was ok, but not that great. It wasn't as good as say, Star Wars fight scenes. And I thought everything was happening so fast that you couldn't really see anything specific going on. It was almost as if the graphics department just said, "well we don't actually know anything about air fights so let's make alien and human ships fly randomly about each other and shoot every now and then - if it's fast enough people will think they're doing something" Despite all of the dumb stuff, I found it entertaining (definitely laughed the entire movie). I thought the graphics for the aliens was really nice. And as far calling the movie Skyline, was that based on like 30 seconds worth of clips showing the aliens in the sky? When I went to see this movie, I was thinking the majority of the film was going to be us watching the SKY, and intense battles going on in the SKY, and aliens coming from the SKY, etc. Instead, 90% of the film was being holed up in a condo, trying to not get your brains sucked up.

To the OP: the ending of that movie sounds fucking atrocious -- it almost makes me want to curb-stomp kittens.

I watch movies to be entertained. I, for one, am not entertained by atrocious acting, ridiculous plots, and horrible scripts. So sue me. You're asking me to overlook 90% of what makes a movie, and enjoy the 10% that was good (the cgi in this case). That's just not going to happen.

Writing a huge forum post ranting about how bad it is and picking apart every flaw while telling everyone else not to see it just doesn't seem like a fun use of your time.

There is a fundamental difference between transformers and skyline. I went to transformers expecting terrible acting but giant robots fighting and that's what I got so I was happy. I went to skyline expecting a decent alien invasion movie...i did not get that so I dislike the movie...the end

I dunno about you but I have nothing but thanks for this guy for writing his lament that was really amusing to me while also saving me the approx. 2 hour or so that I may have wasted watching this movie.

I also enjoy my life quite a bit, just because I rant about one movie I happen to have found HORRIBLE means I'm a Transformers hating, miserable asshole whos critical of everything? Give me a break.

What I do want to say is that some bad movies become cult classics. The corny lines, horrible acting, and over the top fake effects might tribute to extra laughts. I however do not think that this movie will even achieve to become a cult classic since it was even mediocre in it's shittyness... For people who did not have any laughs, I suggest you watch the Nostalgia Critic (google him). If you watch his reviews enough, you might start to understand how to endure horrible movies. Being able to turn a horrible film into something funny is a skill clearly underestimated at job interview, but it's critically important if you're planning to watch the notoriously bad films! I want to end on this note: If people are planning to see this movie, wait till it's a budget DVD, get drunk, and have multiple friends around you. I had laughs during this movie, but it wasnt worth the 10 euro's for the ticket.
