Okay so ladies and gentlemen are you ready for a story? First a story about how I received my mouse..

It's a nice mouse 5600 DPI more than I really need but I got it super cheap technically free but I had to renew my WoW account to get it so total cost $15. This happened in April great timing for the SC2 Beta but here is the story.
If you played WoW any decent amount you should have some general idea of who Swifty is he basically has been the predominant Warrior PVP guy since the beginning of WoW. He recently (in the last year or so) started posting a TON of videos on youtube and running contests with prizes from his sponsor... you guessed it Razer. Now he posts this video announcing the winner of one of his contests.. highest attack power contest.
Now you'll notice the character named Adariana from Bronzebeard and the Guild Icefall (he calls it the server Icefall on accident) This was my character when I still played WoW. armory link for those interested
Now the interesting thing about this was at the time he posted this video I hadnt played WoW in over 2 months so immediately I knew something was up.
So it was time to put on my sleuthing hat! Close enough
First thing I did was grab a screenshot from the HD version of his video of the character screen.
Hmm that looks odd I think I know what happened here
So then I went to my youtube videos where I have a particularly familiar looking video of myself beating the shit out of a training dummy to show off the Feral DPS rotation.
Notice at about 43 seconds in you can see that exact image including the mouse selecting the same piece of equipment on the character menu..
So I screenshotted that compared and proceeded to laugh my fucking ass off.
Side by side image comparison they do this in CSI right?
Notice how fucking stupid this guy is he literally added a 1 in front of the attack power number. That's it that's all he did. If you watch the Swifty video you'll notice that my character looks different well he took this screenshot and paired it with a screenshot later in the video with all hte buffs on screen. But there was one problem... At no one point in the video does my character get every buff possible.. Okay so that's easy enough to fix right?
Lets look at the buffs.. something isn't right here

You don't even need much knowlege to see this guy did a botched photoshop job on these..
So at this point I have beyond a shadow of a doubt proven to myself this guy took a few screenshots from my video threw them together in photoshop and submitted it to Swifty who being none the wiser quite literally said "WHOA!" And proceeded to send him a mouse...
Grumble grumble feeling like I got slapped across the face I gathered all my evidence and sent Swifty a nice little letter.. And got no response. Hmm that's odd well yeah he is Swifty. He's only got...
55,000 subscribers.. Oh shit. Okay so what do I do now? I posted a video basically me sitting there in front of my webcam explaining what happened and providing links in the video description. Then I proceeded to tack this on as a video response to the video he posted in question..
HAH that got his attention fast, not only his but apparently Razer wanted me to remove the video NOW! Because apparently they didnt want people knowing the winner of a contest they sponsored cheated. Okay whatever I removed it.
Finally having Swifty's attention I proceeded to talk to him give him all my evidence again he made me log into my character (15 bucks to renew grumble grumble) he assured me that if I was right he'd send me a mouse for a troubles. So I was like hey whatever free Razer mouse I resubscribed and talked to him in game on the character in question. A few weeks later I'm the proud owner of a new Razer Imperator.. See picture above.
Just one fucking problem. Fast forward 6 months and this mouse is being fucking retarded. Basically the left click sensor is shot. When I try to single click it will often double click, if I try to click and hold to do box selections it will doubleclick and interrupt the click and hold.
Translation: I can't use this mouse to play basically any video game that uses a mouse without it fucking it up.
My mouse isnt this bad but it's pretty damned close
So wait a minute.. Razer mice have a 2 year warranty right? I contacted support and their literal answer was

blah blah blah warranty bullshit with a form to fill out including.. Proof of purchase wait wut? I proceeded to their website and found this little gem..

So basically my problem here is... Razer won't send me a new mouse under the warranty terms which their own support staff says I qualify for... Unless I can provide them with a proof of purchase. But I did not purchase this mouse I received it as a gift from someone who is sponsored by Razer to run contests with their products.. And who I have tried to contact about this for almost a month now with no response. Okay I can salvage this right? I can call them and sort this out... maybe.
Basically after a couple of hours getting transferred around the best answer I could get from anyone was well send in the form with an explanation that I received it from this contest and provide the details. So I did this and I got this response.

So basically they didn't even fucking read my email seeing as the whole point was I've been trying to contact this guy who Razer has affiliated himself with for a MONTH I havent been able to play any video games seriously for A MONTH and instead of trying to help me since they sponsor this guy they say "Tough titties we're not going to help you fuck off."

So now I"m sitting here extremely pissed off my only option right now is to record another video in front of my webcam explaining this to swifty and hope he can pull something. Because if not I"m screwed out of an $80 mouse that is under warranty terms and they admit should be exchanged but they won't exchange.. God fucking damnit.
Lesson Learned: If you win any product in a contest make sure they give you a proof of purchase because if it breaks you could get fucked over by tech support without one.
This sucks. Might I suggest getting Razer as a sponsor and getting a new mouse that way? I've been happy with my little Logitech Optical Mini for 3 years now. That fancy 10 billion DPI crap is overkill anyway. Go with a sturdy $10 mouse.

I think mine is losing connection at the base of the cord, it was like 15$ a basic logitech mouse, but at least it lasted for 3 years, im too scared to open it and try to re solder the cord because I have no backup mouse and no money.

Yeah, since Swifty is so sponsored by Razer he'll easily get you a new mouse, i'm pretty sure you'll just get a brand new one sent to ya - it's such bad press for them to have mice break.
Really you should just be happy you got a free mouse to use for some months.
This guy had no responsibility to right the wrong that occured when someone used a shopped picture of your character for a contest... but he did anyways. You should consider yourself fortunate for that and not bother him cus the mouse you got FOR FREE broke.

The problem is they Sponsor him and he's extremely hard to contact. This is a problem, he did not provide me with proof of purchase when he sent me the mouse... this is a problem. And Razer when I called them said they "might be able to contact him internally but they're not sure." This is a problem. This is stupid on so many levels who sponsors someone sends them prizes to give out in contests over the course of several months then completely cuts all contact? How does he get more prizes does he only contact them? How did they tell him OMG GET HIM TO REMOVE THAT VIDEO when I posted the first one? They obviously have the capability to contact him but they won't.

When I received this mouse I had the capability to buy a different one but why would I? I know your pain! I won a pair of Razer Carcharias at Blizzcon 2009 and the mic never worked, so I contacted Razer and told them that I had wont hem at Blizzcon and everything and they said "Okay well you're going to have to talk to Blizzard for the original proof of purchase"................ wtf.

My understanding talking to Swifty the first time was he wasnt really involved in sc2 and didnt post on TL cuz he didnt even know anything about livestreams which have been a big feature on TL. If you are Swifty then let me clarify Im not mad at you but more of the silliness on Razer's end o.0 but why is it unreasonable to want warranty to exchange my mouse?
I would probably have chucked it out the window if i got turned down by Razor instead of trying to get proof of purchase from Swifty. Like that you actually made a youtube vid and posted it, that should get his attention. Why do people keep saying this I just want the proof of purchase or as the email said for him to confirm with Razer that he sent it to me so warranty will replace it. Do you people not read?
People like Swifty give the WoW community a bad name. He's not very good at his class ( relative to actual professional PVPers ) and he's so distant that it sucks to watch people get shafted by him ( you're not the first I've read of ). I saw one thing where a guy asked Swifty how to "go pro" and his entire response consisted of something similar to buy a good mouse and play lots of Battlegrounds. To me, that's like if someone asked how to play high level SC2 and someone like HD or Husky told them to buy an expensive mouse and play customs all the time.
I really do hope you get your Proof of Purchase or, alternatively, Razer decides to just be the nice guy here

Isn't that kind of obvious that you should get a proof of purchase? I kind of can understand that you might not think of that when receiving something as a gift, but it's still in your best interest and your own responsibility to make sure that all parts are present upon arrival. No, or at least very few, will send you a new, fairly expensive, product without any proof of you actually being the owner of said product.
Anyway, I hope Swifty eventually responds and you get the help you need. Either way, what is good is that you probably won't ever make that same mistake again. Good luck!
Edit: Oh, doesn't he have like a manager or someone who represents him that you can contact? I mean, there must be some way of reaching him if it's important.

yeah thats what i was gonna say. i have a razer mouse and it's had that issue before. resetting the firmware and getting the drivers reupdated again completely fixed it for me and i know its a problem that happens from time to time.
but yeah if that doesnt work its certainly time to get a new one. hope you get it fixed or can get ahold of swifty.
try going through the whole resetting thing, wipe the drivers from ur PC and unplug the mouse and hold left right and middle click down for like a minute to reset it. i think thats how it works and reinstall all of it fresh and see if it works. it's worth a shot at least.

It's clearly a hardware issue seeing as if you remove the drivers altogether it still doubleclicks. I've already reinstalled hte drivers tons of times and just for hte record zero response from Swifty so I"m going to bother Razer some more.
yeah, try to get an executive (marketing, VP, PR, communications, etc.) on the phone -
tell him/her you have a leading SC2 stream that gets thousands of unique viewers (i.e. you're an opinion leader)
all you want is a replacement for a mouse that probably costs them about $3 from a factory in China
you'd gladly give them a shout out for actually listening to gamers since they already spend tons of money sponsoring events, getting their name out, whatever
