Oooh it lights up... APM technology? sadly no
It's a nice mouse 5600 DPI more than I really need but I got it super cheap technically free but I had to renew my WoW account to get it so total cost $15. This happened in April great timing for the SC2 Beta but here is the story.
If you played WoW any decent amount you should have some general idea of who Swifty is he basically has been the predominant Warrior PVP guy since the beginning of WoW. He recently (in the last year or so) started posting a TON of videos on youtube and running contests with prizes from his sponsor... you guessed it Razer. Now he posts this video announcing the winner of one of his contests.. highest attack power contest.
Now you'll notice the character named Adariana from Bronzebeard and the Guild Icefall (he calls it the server Icefall on accident) This was my character when I still played WoW. armory link for those interested
Now the interesting thing about this was at the time he posted this video I hadnt played WoW in over 2 months so immediately I knew something was up.
So it was time to put on my sleuthing hat!
Close enough
First thing I did was grab a screenshot from the HD version of his video of the character screen.
Hmm that looks odd I think I know what happened here
So then I went to my youtube videos where I have a particularly familiar looking video of myself beating the shit out of a training dummy to show off the Feral DPS rotation.
Notice at about 43 seconds in you can see that exact image including the mouse selecting the same piece of equipment on the character menu..
So I screenshotted that compared and proceeded to laugh my fucking ass off.

Notice how fucking stupid this guy is he literally added a 1 in front of the attack power number. That's it that's all he did. If you watch the Swifty video you'll notice that my character looks different well he took this screenshot and paired it with a screenshot later in the video with all hte buffs on screen. But there was one problem... At no one point in the video does my character get every buff possible.. Okay so that's easy enough to fix right?

You don't even need much knowlege to see this guy did a botched photoshop job on these..
So at this point I have beyond a shadow of a doubt proven to myself this guy took a few screenshots from my video threw them together in photoshop and submitted it to Swifty who being none the wiser quite literally said "WHOA!" And proceeded to send him a mouse...
Grumble grumble feeling like I got slapped across the face I gathered all my evidence and sent Swifty a nice little letter.. And got no response. Hmm that's odd well yeah he is Swifty. He's only got...
55,000 subscribers.. Oh shit. Okay so what do I do now? I posted a video basically me sitting there in front of my webcam explaining what happened and providing links in the video description. Then I proceeded to tack this on as a video response to the video he posted in question..
HAH that got his attention fast, not only his but apparently Razer wanted me to remove the video NOW! Because apparently they didnt want people knowing the winner of a contest they sponsored cheated. Okay whatever I removed it.
Finally having Swifty's attention I proceeded to talk to him give him all my evidence again he made me log into my character (15 bucks to renew grumble grumble) he assured me that if I was right he'd send me a mouse for a troubles. So I was like hey whatever free Razer mouse I resubscribed and talked to him in game on the character in question. A few weeks later I'm the proud owner of a new Razer Imperator.. See picture above.
Just one fucking problem. Fast forward 6 months and this mouse is being fucking retarded. Basically the left click sensor is shot. When I try to single click it will often double click, if I try to click and hold to do box selections it will doubleclick and interrupt the click and hold.
Translation: I can't use this mouse to play basically any video game that uses a mouse without it fucking it up.
My mouse isnt this bad but it's pretty damned close
So wait a minute.. Razer mice have a 2 year warranty right? I contacted support and their literal answer was
It sounds like your product may be in need of an exchange. If you purchased your unit outside the USA or Canada your reseller should be able to assist you with any exchange.
blah blah blah warranty bullshit with a form to fill out including.. Proof of purchase wait wut? I proceeded to their website and found this little gem..

If the Product was purchased on line, be sure to check your old e-mails. The vendor should have sent you a confirmation page showing that the Product has been shipped to you.

So basically my problem here is... Razer won't send me a new mouse under the warranty terms which their own support staff says I qualify for... Unless I can provide them with a proof of purchase. But I did not purchase this mouse I received it as a gift from someone who is sponsored by Razer to run contests with their products.. And who I have tried to contact about this for almost a month now with no response. Okay I can salvage this right? I can call them and sort this out... maybe.
Basically after a couple of hours getting transferred around the best answer I could get from anyone was well send in the form with an explanation that I received it from this contest and provide the details. So I did this and I got this response.

So basically they didn't even fucking read my email seeing as the whole point was I've been trying to contact this guy who Razer has affiliated himself with for a MONTH I havent been able to play any video games seriously for A MONTH and instead of trying to help me since they sponsor this guy they say "Tough titties we're not going to help you fuck off."

So now I"m sitting here extremely pissed off my only option right now is to record another video in front of my webcam explaining this to swifty and hope he can pull something. Because if not I"m screwed out of an $80 mouse that is under warranty terms and they admit should be exchanged but they won't exchange.. God fucking damnit.
Lesson Learned: If you win any product in a contest make sure they give you a proof of purchase because if it breaks you could get fucked over by tech support without one.
