I feel like everyone has that one song, maybe it changes at different points in your life, but that one song is the song that can pretty much sum up your life. I've been feeling down all week, really confused with what's going on in my life, when I stumbled on this song by my favorite band.
The lyrics hit home with me, especially the opening lines, and in particular, "I'm so full of what is right, I can't see what is good."
I've never really had a song hit me like this before, and for me, the articulation of what I was feeling at this instant is just so nice to have, that I had to share it, and ask TL, what song is their song, and why?
For me, I'm a very severe person when it comes to judgments and morals, and I never really considered that perhaps that was stopping me from enjoying the good in my life. While I know most of what I act on are my convictions and I should stand by them, sometimes when I'm sitting alone, I just feel like maybe I'm missing something. Something just doesn't feel right. But then, the handful of times I've transgressed my own judgment, I've always come out regretting it. I'll sit out on potential opportunities for sex, and social interactions for the sake of my conscience, and then regret it later, I just can't win. This song doesn't provide any solutions (not that expect a song to xD ) but, just framing my situation helps somehow...
But enough of my bitch story, come Teamliquid, what is your song, and why?
Destiny's Child did a remake of this song, emotion.
I wouldn't say I have a life song, but you know, the songs always capture a certain point in your life. Short of it, whenever I hear this song, I always think of all my ex-gfs and how much I did love them and how much they loved me and I kinda image them singing this to me and us dancing one last time. I normally never think of any of them, but when I hear this song, I do, just one of those nostalgic moments in time.

"Life's a bitch and then you die, that's why we get high, 'cause you never know when you're gonna go, Life's a bitch and then you die, that's why we puff lye, 'cause you never know when you're gonna go."
