[UMS] Star Shooter Defense Released

gfever United States180 Posts November 09 2010 05:10 GMT #1 I am happy to introduce my 3rd person shooter. After weeks of editing I have finally made a complete 3rd person shooter. 50 waves, 30 hero levels, 4 classes, 10 buyable reinforcements, fluid controls, and much more in future updates. [Gameplay] Max of 3 players per game. Basically you move with WASD and shoot with left click. R to reload and shift, F, E, C for your abilities. B opens up your reinforcement tab and you can call down units using your credits from killing zerg. You have to protect your planetary fortress from the zerg. As each wave increases, more stronger units appear as well as bosses. There will be drops and nydus worms throughout the game. So you can't just sit at one choke the whole game. Theres the Ghost, Marine, Firebat, Marauder, each with 2 of the same abilities but each with 2 unique abilities. Demo Video: [Lag Issues] Overall my testers haven't complained about the lag at all. As long as you have an average computer you can run this game well and smooth. They mostly have said the shooting has no lag at all but the movement is a little off, maybe about .5 second. As long as you can handle atleast 100 units on your screen at one time its fine. I run it on a laptop with crappy internet connection and it works fine, even off host. From my experience, other shooters havn't done too well cuz of the bnet lag problem but from experimenting with the triggers and scripting I think I have came up with a good solution. There are still maybe 1 of 30 players will experience lag but from my knowledge it is because their computer can't handle the FPS. Apparently, my friend post my old versions on EU servers with his own mods and name it "Final Stand" and now its 3rd ranked on the list. Now sure if its true cuz I dont have a EU account but if it is, I am surprised. If anyone can confirm this that would be nice(hence I don't quite believe him =P).
