EPTI finally (FINALLY) found a guy who hasn't been brainwashed by the myth that housing benefits are "BAD" and will take the 10-odd-hour journey down there tomorrow.
The place is 30+ minutes away from where I wanted to be and the guy hasn't confirmed anything yet, but I still feel lucky as fuck -_-
I phoned all the guesthouses that are marked on Google and they all denied me, even though it's approaching off-season and they won't have many visitors. So I was feeling really shitty about just turning up and walking the streets trying to find somewhere.
Got a job interview too (80%+ chance that I'll get it?) but since my accomodation is yet to be set in writing I'm not getting my hopes up.
I got a job a few weeks ago as a "kitchen porter" in a large games arcade restaurant. The woman told me, twice, she'd fired or had walk out 10 people in the last 7 days because the job was so shitty.
It had 2 parts, 1st was washing dishes and heavy metal trays, 2nd was walking round the tables and loading plates onto a trolly. Sounds fucking easy shit right?
Have you EVER tried to wash heavy plates and metal cooking trays for 5 solid hours, as fast as you possibly can, non-stop? IT FUCKING BLOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWS. It's not the fact that it is ceaseless that bothered me, but moreso that it was fucking painful. No wonder women never do this, you need like bodybuilder grip.
Walking round tables for 5 hours straight, wiping them and bringing the plates back to the kitchen? 1 hour..fine..bit boring....5...7 hours? Argghhh. Dizzying!
But the worst of it...
The boss was this fat short northern woman. I'm so fucking amiacable but she is the nastiest bit of work you can imagine. Rude, obnoxious, if you try to tell her something she'll just interrupt with "I don't want any excuses, get on with your job. When you're told to do something do it immeditaly. (WTF I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO DO IT NO ONE TELLS ME AND JUST WALKS OFF?). I've fired people for less than that." etc.
It's because people are sooo fucking desperate for a job they can abuse the fuck out of you and don't give a shit because if you leave there are 1000 others to fill your place. For £5.80 an hour.
As I was leaving Blackpool by taxi, I stopped there to give in my uniform. Knocked on the open-office door and went in, told the lady "Hi there, I'm just returning my uniform, thanks a lot". She was like "WTF YOU WAIT OUTSIDE UNTIL IM READY TO TALK TO YOU." I was like "lol got a taxi waiting thanks so much byeeeee". GOD THE PEOPLE ARE REDICULOUS. I hope they're actually going to pay me after all this.
