So, after a few hours of searching, I am split between the Blackberry Torch, Samsung Galaxy S, and the iphone 4. I've asked my friends, family and what not and they all gave me different answers, so this is where TL comes in.
First of all, I should add WHY I am getting a new phone. Currently I have an LG rumour (pretty old), and ever since university began, I seemed to use the phone a LOT. The internet/facebook and whatnot seem to be really complicated/bad on this phone so i never use it. So i decided that I should get a new phone because for smartphones/iphone, the internet/social networking is great.
Now the blackberry torch probably is a little lacking compared to the other 2, but the one thing it has is AN ACTUAL KEYPAD. I don't seem to be too fond of those touchpads, because i just feel so much more comfortable typing with a keypad (i text regularly).
Any feedback is welcome, you can even flame me (i dont know why you would), im really bored right now.

I would get the Galaxy S, it's a solid phone and different from the everyday iphones. i don't know about the blackberry. or wait until around november for the android 3.0 compatible phones!

just get Swype on a Galaxy S and all your typing problems will be solved
hardware-wise, it's generally galaxy > iphone4 >> torch
Software-wise, iOS and android would be pretty damn close if you surveyed the general population's opinion as of now. Android is still improving at an amazing pace though, and many analysts predict that android will overtake iOS in the coming months/years. BBOS is falling more and more behind by the day, and iirc from some article, it's mainly android that is stealing market share from BB. Personally, I think if you like fiddling around with computers alot, and like the ability to make alot of customizations, I would go for android over iOS.

wow thanks for such an indepth response!

The LG Rumor sucks dick, I had three of them fail in the exact same way before I opted for something else. Good choice in getting rid of it :p

Exactly what blue_arrow says. I'm using an Android phone right now (Captivate) and some of my friends who have the iphone4 are considering the switch. There's just so much more room for customization and potential for epic features for the Android OS (especially once Froyo rolls out in stock).
My personal opinion of BB is that you should only get it if a large majority of your friends have one, as BBM is pretty much the one selling point it has over the iphone and the Android (I haven't used BBM before so I don't know what it has particularly over other messaging services). I preferred a true keypad too, but after using my Captivate for a week, I can say that Swype has changed me and can definitely live without a solid keyboard.
I'm assuming you are living in Canada? The Captivate comes out with Rogers on the 20th, you might want to look into that. Personally I think it looks better than the alternative (Vibrant on Bell) which physically looks like an iphone clone :/
