Platinum #55 to Diamond #1?

Today I plan to begin a "mission" I have set myself I plan to get from my current rank (50ish platinum) to number 1 diamond.. perhaps that's a little ambitious I'll be happy with top 10 in my division really.

So why is this here?, glad you asked. I plan to make a blog daily detailing my progress and hopefully my success.

Today is just an introduction, tomorrow I will post replays and stuff from todays games then the day after post games from tomorrow and well you get the idea.

So I can't really think of much else to put so I'll just stick some current details here and get going on my wild journey!.

Race: Zerg
Starting Rank: 55th Platinum.
Biggest fear: Spiders

One last thing feel free to post any criticisms on my play if you decide to watch any of the replays posted in future.

Whether or not it's possible depends on what diamond division you end up in. Better to shoot for points (1000?).

Good luck! It might take a little while, but you can do it =D. 32nd in Diamond might be a bit ambitious for just a week though. Focus on improvement in your games, then the ranks will naturally follow (and stick too).

Definitely possible to at least rank up in your own division if you have a solid understanding of your basic Zerg mechanics.

What will assist you is learning how to completely shutdown Protoss 4 gates pushes (if they still do that after the patch, I haven't played much since). My win ratio against P went up a lot after that. Most T players I play in plat are pretty trashy so as long as you can solidly defend against whatever weird things they throw at you, you should be able to outmacro and win.

Number 1 diamond will depend which diamond league you end up in.

Against 4 gate a bunch of lings work, if he has lots of zealots and sentries you need roaches. i always get an Overseer right after my lair finishes now in ZvT and ZvP.

Z is all about composition. Whenever I lose its like: Oh i should've had this unit", or, "I should've had a roach warren" etc.

I've become a bit of a nazi with mid and late game scouting. Early game is really hard. You have to run some lings in and kinda guess.

Low diamond Z player by the way. Just moved to Z from random. Still learning a lot of the timings and army comps.

Usually if you let split the map with a 3-2 base ratio or else you lose. You need at least 2 more hatcheries by the time the map is taken and then it's like 50\50.
