..until Blizzard fixes their fucking matchmaking system. Seriously, how the hell is a random diamond and platinum/gold team supposed to be an arranged double diamond team. Not only are all my partners not diamond, but they fucking suck, don't talk at all, and/or don't listen to me. And that's not even the best part! Every match I'm always favored and my partners never cease to let me down. Furthermore, the matches that do say the enemy is favored are broke as fuck because after I win on the score screen it says I was favored and I gain 5 points. It's so stupid how I have to win 4-5 matches just to make up for 1 loss.
In the past two days I've went from 1350 points (top 10 according to SC2Ranks.com) to 1075 points. Yes, there's some matches that were probably my fault, but seriously.. who the hell let so many newbs into diamond? I get partners that go 2 assimilators before cybernetics core, go 2 barracks and try and pump the whole match from them only, or go mutalisks against double terrans.

Point inflation man. There are plenty of reasons not to play SC2 now, however.

Wait so, you're playing RANDOM teams, and you're complaining about your partners sucking?
I'll agree that matching arranged and random teams together is shit, but whoever goes into random team games thinking that strong organization, teamwork, and quality players are all going to coexist is foolish.
If it bothers you this badly, just don't play random teams? D=

Some of the people could be first-timers doing their placement matches?
|
Yeah I'd just stick to the 1v1, I avoid MM unless it's with a friend, even then I don't get the same experience as a nice long 1v1! Cheese Ahoy
Chillout and play some SP, I get frustrated sometimes but it's really unavoidable in the course of everyone's play.

Some super highskilled (TOP 10 ACCORDING TO SC2RANKS.COM) randomteamer complains about his teammates... never seem that before.

I think you need to game with a friend. The best time I had with SC2 was in beta with Plexa.
|
We are sure are seeing a lot of these type of threads recently.
|
Mmh, this really sounds like a bug. Did only occur recently after the new patch or server patch (mainly taking place on wednesdays)? I can understand how this sucks for you, but I guess I would really look for good partners. Maybe u simply try to message the 10-20 other top 10 guys?
|
Okay so leave then? And quietly comeback in less than 7 days. Your not quitting, your just going to find something else to waste time on sc2 with.
|
Must be the tank nerf, who knows - I'm finding 4 gates at least easier to play against

Well said. If you really want to 2v2 then grab a friend, or partner with someone you had good chemistry with while playing. I was in the same boat when I did random 2v2s in my placement matches during beta.
|
ya, if you only play sc2 for "random" 2v2 teams, then it isn't very surprising that you want to quit
you can't take RT seriously and not expect to get frustrated beyond belief

I have the same problem. Blizzard keeps matching me with people who don't even speak English.

Before they "fixed" matchmaking the wait was much much longer but teammates were at least around the same skill level. Generally speaking the better team won their games and most of the time if the other team was an AT they were favored. To lower wait times they simply made it so every game is a gamble on who gets the retard on their team or if you're fighting an arranged team. To make it worse, somehow your point gain and loss is heavily biased by your own rating ignoring who you've got on your team so you have to maintain a >75% win rate to stay even.
Ya I'm staying away from 4v4 random now.
Edit: I was #1 4v4 random for almost a month before the change. Now to have any chance at top 10 you have to be going in with 3 people and hope your 4th isn't a dumbass.
|
RT right now is pretty bad, it's basicly the same as ranked ffa.
I play 3v3 with 2 friends for fun(pretty top diamond for 3v3 lol), and when we que we sometimes get gold players mixed with 1 RT diamond.
edit: i'd like to note that before the change in that patch to matchmaking, we would have 45 minute ques and not play anyone.... so i don't know what is worse.
|
play with friends or join a clan, the social aspect is what always makes the game for me. I have not ever random 2v2ed and when i 2v2 its usually with a good internet bud and we are joking and having fun the entire time, but of course if your not having fun with a game do not play it. Starcraft is not your job and the day you stop having fun is the day you really shouldn't be playing it.
good luck to yah man

I've barely played any Starcraft 2. Not only am I too busy with college stuff....
But it got boring after a while. >.> Especially since my computer sucks ass and I lag every time I play. :D

Yeah, team games aren't meant to be taken seriously without a partner. Or maybe they are, but I run into the same situation as you, so I just try to stick to 3v3 or shit that won't piss me off when I lose.

awww how cute.

Nothing better than 4v4ing with friends at a lan, doing only cheese and being extremely BM and loud to the opponents and your selves...
|
I can't even imagine playing without a partner. My friends are bad enough as is and we use vent, now a random player without vent would be tough. It probably won't be as bad in 3v3 or 4v4 if you want to try that. Then request one of your allies to be your 2v2 partner if they don't suck too much.
|
Blizzard will never be able to make a perfect matchmaking system for Team games, just accept that you can't handle 1v1 and need someone to blame for your losses.
Just kidding! RTing is no way to play RTS games unless you want to break your computer, get/make friends to play with for team games with or stick to 1v1. Hell I still play with my BGH buddies from 10 years ago now in SC2. They are the reason why I actually play the game so much.

The point (obviously) is that you will be matched against another random team with the same handicap, and after many games your ability to overcome this will separate you from other random team players, that's part of the fun. Except in SC2 there is no fun in Random Team, it's you and 3 people that range from bronze league to top diamond vs an arranged team that usually has a 90% winrate and is going to kill you off in a manner where your skill means nothing, and telling your allies what to do or what your opponent is doing is not enough.

I second that. Gaming with my brother is the BEST way to play 2v2.

I don't understand why people would even want to queue for 2v2 without a partner...

Protip: Don't play with random allies?
I always play with friends in team games. The only minor exception to this would maybe be my 4v4 Randoms, Which I usually end up partying with a friend, so I'm in with him and 2 pubby allies... Makes it much more bearable.

Rewind a month ago and if you went into 4v4 random your allies would generally be around your level and its nice because you get to meet people to play with that are decent. I made a few friends playing 4v4 random because we'd see each other every game because there's only a few people in our skill range. With the matchmaking "fix" its turned to utter shit but hey, you get to play a shitty game much faster now.

Don't play 2v2 unless you have a partner.
I exclusively play 1v1 unless my Korean Terran friend is online.

Anyway random usually sucks. If my friend and I play 3v3 with a random, the 3rd guy always sucks badly. 2v2 with randoms is usually terrible since they're half the team. But other than that, points are pretty meaningless. You're just being sucked into Blizz's mind-controlling methods.
|
You need to stop raging so hard when you lose with random people Kris. Either play with people you know or play 1v1s... It's not that complicated. Random 2's seem pointless and boring.
So that game you lost vs me was with a random partner huh?
|
I totally agree with you man haha.
I think that it is 10x harder to get in diamond 4v4 with a random team than to get in diamond in 1v1.
Most of my games i'm like 1v3 or 2v4. Quite good to practise your macro and your trashtalk :p
|
This is absolutely intentional. When the system finds two average Diamond opponents, it wants to find a bad player for you to balance out the teams because your MMR is likely very high (or was). If you don't want to be intentionally handicapped now and then, find some decent 2v2 partners.
|
If you truly care about your 2v2 ladder then just find a partner? Many resources for you to use to find one easily or you can just not care and play.
|
Only play 1v1 unless you have a partner who is online?
|
Playing 1v1 is harder on the ego, especially if you play Terran... As T if you lose a game you can't blame anybody but yourself.
