i want to be able to be part of some film job...i don't know which one, there is a lot. and i don't really want to be famous (if i ever do), i'll probably like a small company or maybe some animated show. anyways is this a good choice for a major?
1.)i heard that people don't have much of a job with this major, is this true?
2.) for you people with film experience or taking film classes at college, is it a good/fun thing and is it something you enjoy?
3.) and what do you at film classes? watch movies? write notes? tell me please.
4.) and people with film degrees, did you get good jobs/ satisfying jobs and are you happy with the outcome?
5.) and what can you do with a film degree?

and i plan to go to CSULB for film i guess, not UC or anything 'cause my grades aren't so hot

1) The major doesnt hurt but it's the wealth of knowledge and meeting like-minded people that will aid your entry into filmmaking. From what I've experienced the film industry favour practical experience to academic qualifications. So combine both, study films while making films
2) Making films, writing about films, watching films, discussing films all for your studes.. You do the maths 
3) I took a film and literature course so it was primarily theory. My courses covered the major cinematic movements as well as developments in contemporary film. The classes composed of several film viewings a week, then prescribed contextual reading around these films and discussions in preparation for essays and exams.
4) Straight after my degree I applied for a masters in social and cultural psychology, and my background definitely helped. So I'm not sure about finding a long term job somewhere but my degree helped me get internships in newspapers and media.
5) Nothing if you dont do anything with it. Everything if you can! For me the best thing were the friends I met on my course, many have gone into some great positions with the film industry and we help each other with our projects.

My income? It's in the minus regions for I'm still a masters student..
If youre looking to earn money immediately then film isnt the area youre looking for.

If you go film major, work your ass off. I have a few buddies who have worked on bigger films (avatar, transformers) and they were doing film stuff all the time. His life was film and he got ahead. But even still he wouldn't be a name you recognize. Not sure on what his income is, but he always seems to be working on some set. I also have other buddies who have film majors and all they do is smoke pot and make lame half assed shorts. You dont need a big budget to make something interesting and well done. Just creativity and a bit of Macgyver skills. haha
Do as many internships as possible, the more people get familiar with your face in the industry the more people you know. And film is all about who you know, or who knows you.
Don't get discouraged, you most likely wont be the next Michael bay, or Steven Spielberg. At least not until you've done about 10 years in the industry. haha But if you work really hard, are outgoing and willing to suck up/make sure people know who you are (but not in a egotistical way) you'll have plenty of jobs.
(I was in the 3d cinematics business for awhile, kind of the same process)
