So in probably one of the dumber moves I've pulled in my life, taking a bike out for a ride knowing some of the breaks don't work is probably one of them.
Today my friend lent me is bike while he was finishing up his work cause we're gonna hang out today, and I didn't want to ride it in the parking lot of a warehouse for there was a lot of gravel in it. as I was riding i noticed the tires slipping on the gravel, so i took it across the street into another parking lot. Rode it around in there, and once I felt like I wasted enough time, I rode up to the intersection. And low and behold the fucking breaks fail on me, I looked down to see the problem at probably 20 mph (brilliant right?) looked back up,theres a pick-up truck, tried to stop and nailed the side of this guys truck and fucked up my leg...
So of course we call 911, ambulance shows up with a fire truck and 2 police cars... little overkill in my opinion for a bike accident. Take my info, call my parents, and now I'm limping. amazingly the bike is in better shape then me and the truck i hit. But god damn am I in pain...
Hope you get ok soon and also that your suspicious behaviour wont lead you to be on the US watch list of terrorrists. It takes like nothing to go on that list.

this reminds me of when i was 10 i had a rhubarb leaf on my head and i was riding my bike down a hill, the leaf went over my eyes and i crashed into the back of a pickup. there was a fire emergency vehicle and a cop car i was only 1 block away from my house.

Pretty damn sure I'm liable, probably did like at least 300 bucks worth of damage to this guys truck.
I think his most likely option will be to take you to small claims court to pay for the repairs. I see this stuff on Judge judy/ Judge joe brown etc all the time. It's like half of what they deal with.
That happened to my friend lol, his brakes weren't working and we were going along this path which suddenly turned into a road...he slammed into the side of this car that came from no where. He was totally fine but the car had a dent in it, the girl driving though was freaking out too much thinking she'd just killed someone to notice and we just cycled off lol.
Seriously why the fuck not turn and jump the curb? Did you have no childhood on a bike? I'm assuming this just a standard non-road bicycle where breaks dont really matter and you can turn in an instant/bail/break-with-foot, Like for real? Come on lol

yeah i guess i should have, next time im in a scenario where i grab the breaks and i have less then a second to not die i'll remember jump the curb i already passed...

I know I may be crazy, but people like me see it as criminal for the United States government to take blood samples of babies at birth and openly put them into databases for identification and psychological/statistical analysis.
