Having trouble maintaining your biorhythm these days? Are you the guy that sleeps when it's dawn, not dusk? Do you want to challenge yourself into maintaining a regular sleeping pattern again?
I don't think it's good to continue living during vampire hours. I see that many posters are having trouble with their sleep schedules, especially those who try to stay up late to watch PL. I'm one of those people who just doesn't sleep until I see the twilight. I'm trying to fix that. I'll be updating this blog on a weekly basis with a recorded time of when I put the lights out, then check approximately every 10 minutes until I fall asleep.
If there's anyone who wants to join my effort, post and we'll update here weekly. I'm mainly going to use this thread so I can keep myself recorded and as a reminder.
Self-imposed Curfew: 11:30 PM Sleeptime goal: Midnight.
Offtopic, random bonus skill: Lucid dreaming and Catnap/power sleeping. (Tried to research and try it before in a previous thread.)

Tonight is an unfortunate night to start doing this.

Sleeping 3~4am tonight after doing the SPL translations. Worst day to start doing this, imo, and worst time of the year too.

Are you sure you don't want to wait a couple weeks until Proleague is over?
|
Oh, well I wouldn't know. I don't follow progaming at all.
Doesn't affect me, so I'm going to start tonight. You can start whenever you want, but I'm trying to get a head start so I'm ready for school hours.

Good luck! May I ask what you mean by "check approximately every 10 minutes until I fall asleep"? Won't it make it harder to sleep if you make yourself get onto your blog every 10 minutes?
Lucid dreaming is also something I really, really want to do because it seems very cool. I've had a few randomly epic dreams that are novel-worthy this week, but they weren't exactly "lucid" and I haven't particularly been trying to do lucid dreaming.
Cracked has a pretty cool article that talks about both a unique sleep pattern and lucid dreaming.

I'll do this! My curfew has to be 12:30 b/c i study till 12 usually. No more computer in the bed watching goatrope show late nights!

I meant I'll try to check the time on my phone until I feel that drowsiness set in, which by then I'm assuming I'll be gone to dreamland.
I'll also check out the article. Just once, I wish I could fly and teleport wherever (childhood dream).

I really should be on a better sleep schedule, but it's summer break right now and I'm trying to catch up on all the sleep I missed during the school year. Honestly, I probably haven't went to bed before midnight in like 2 years, which is kind of ridiculous. I don't really mind it too much, sometimes I'm really productive at like 2am, but other times I just stay up all night watching the proleague or something. I'd rather not being doing that and getting up at like 9-10am instead of noonish. This probably won't change, but maybe I'll start setting an alarm for 10am...

Oh, I get what you mean. Usually, it helps more when I don't check the clock, and if you're doing so in order to figure out at what time you fell asleep, you might have a hard time remembering about when it was the morning after.
I've actually flown and teleported randomly just in normal dreams .__. In most of them, I was frantically running away from something that I had a nightmarish fear of... T^T
If you're SUPA SRS about this, then really try hard and I guarantee you'll eventually be able to dream lucidly.

My main goal is just to solidly reset my sleep, so all that lucid dreaming and stuff come after. I'll see about it then. I'm only including the time check because I actually have a habit of peeking at the time once in a while on nights I can't sleep. I guess it won't be a big thing, though compared to simply forcing myself to get to bed by a certain time.

Yup. Now I'll try to play 10-11ish.

After proleague is over, I'm gonna join in on this. I'll be aiming for 10:30

Poor sleeping habits including sleeping when it's bright contributes fairly strongly to cancer IIRC. Something about how your body uses darkness as a cue to regenerate and repair tissue damage. So, good idea.

For some reason, I thought you were sort of making this up (was thinking of how people told me I'll become super strong if I ate my veggies), but the first search on google showed an article that reflected exactly what you said:

This stuff is really interesting. I guess I always took for granted people should sleep before midnight and wake up with a good amount of sleep, as early as possible.

I'm down to participate in this! (on weekdays at least.) I've been feeling like shit everyday this week at work... A mix of not enough sleep, and too much coffee. I work like 10-12 hours a day so I think I'm gonna make myself get a full 6 hours of sleep a night. I'll be aiming to be in bed by 11.45 so I can be asleep by midnight. YEAHHHH.
Usually I don't check my clock once I'm in bed. Because usually I don't have trouble falling asleep, but when I do, checking my clock just makes me get all fidgety and I have a harder time sleeping :s.
EDIT:
Sunday night... goal: 12am. Now in bed: 12.59am. SIGH GREAT START!!1

if you are interested in more info on lucid dreaming, check out ld4all.com i used to frequent that place alot when I was interested.
It seems people take like vitamin b9 and other weird vitamins to get better results with their dream world.
