Hello Friends! My wife and I are looking for some help finding a Hotel for my vacation to Seoul, South Korea in 2011. We plan on staying from mid-February to early-March. Approximately 2 weeks.
I would like some recommendations from anyone who knows of good Hotel Accommodations for that city. We would prefer to be as close to "equal" distance from both the MBC studios and the OGN studios as possible- so we can catch some events at either.
We would also like some advice from anyone who knows about other sites to see in the city! Other than Starcraft events, we are fairly in the dark about what else to go see...
Also... we may need help actually getting the Tickets to the MBC or OGN events- is this done on line? At the site? ... or by some other method?
We should be fine with public transportation, but a hotel located close to a subway station route is obviously desirable. We usually like to stay "comfortable", so rooms ranging from US$150 to US$350 per night are not a problem.
Thank you SO much for anyone reading and replying to my Blog
Hope to be blogging from Korea in the near future!!!!

Try the famous Lotte Hotel =D May be a bit pricey but it's one of the best in South Korea and right in the heart of Seoul = relatively easy access to your wanted destinations. MBC OGN tickets can be purchased up front or online

Your everyday events (Proleague, MSL, OSL) are just walk-in events. No tickets are required. I'm not sure about finals though.

SC exhibits are free, and if you're interested in the culture in Korea, then PM me up for some tourism spots.
i myself love going to the places right next to the big shopping areas where they got really cheap clothes on the street vendors and eating snack foods sold at little shops scattered through the countryside lol :D

omg you dont need to book hotels in korea, there are TONS i mean TONS of little hotels that are SUPER CHEAP, perfect for couples and super clean(not a queen but a two person sized bed, bath and a tv+wifi ZOMG FAST!!!). I traveled literally all around visiting small towns, and it was always easy to find nice cheap hotels under 45 bucks a night!!! Honestly if your prepared to spend $300,00 on a room.you can afford cabs they are pretty cheap!! But the subway is amazing and air conditioned everything is labeled in english and if you get lost all young people speak english and enthusiastic to practice. Busses are a bit confusing cause i had no idea where i was and ended up and a few adventures as a result.
I say just find a couple of places as a last resort but you can totally find great deals walking around. I always end up just winging it from the airport, and just end up finding great places and meeting great people.
have a great time.

Agree with the above.
If you want something fancy there are some fancy hotels.
But there's plenty of really cheap "love motels". A lot of them aren't bad at all, they're relatively cheap and all have a nice bed and big screen TV
Most are clean as well.
Plus you'll get free condoms! score!

We are already booked in this Lotte hotel.
This is all really great advice, I can't wait to see all these things!
Now I just have to wait 6 more months
