I'm an enthusiastic chess player, used to play somewhat competetively 3 years ago, but stopped and now I'm really rusty. I find that simply verbalizing your thoughts helps a lot to see flaws in your thinking, so I've been doing that lately to help myself get back in shape. And I figured, why not make some videos? Yeah I'm not a great player by any means, but I suppose people might still find this interesting. So I did that. English ain't my native language and also my mic had some problems (sound gets quite weird when I stop shouting...).
So yeah, I recorded a game, and I played quite poorly but it was a quite fun game so I'm uploading it anyways. Random comments are welcome, as well as constructive criticism. I found doing commentary really fun, so I'll probably do some more, so please tell me how I can improve!
Haven't considered live streaming. First of all my computer isn't all that good (laptop with core i5 and ATI 5400...), so I don't know whether it will be good enough for that kind of stuff. Also I'd like to at least get back to my previous skill level (which even ain't that good...) before I start making some more serious commentaries or whatnot.
There was a guy who livestreamed some chess games he was playing with commentary. I cant remember what he was called but i havent seen him in a long time. Probably stopped because he didnt get very many hits.
So i think you could do the same, atleast if you are happy that there most likely wont be more than 5 people watching you play. I did enjoy watching his chess matches since i thought he was godly good after my standarts. Actually sucks that he stopped streaming.

Yeah I watched him play some games on his stream and he's much better than me. But then again, I'm doing these for entertainment mostly. Also I don't like playing blitz and play rapid games instead, which are quite a bit different from those 5 minute games.

Woah, a professional chess player? Is you dad a Grandmaster or something?

ng5... he still does it every once in a while... look for his chess streaming bumps... he's really really good.
And lol I saw that coming where you couldn't take back the bishop on e3 esle you would loose the c4 pawn. I was kinda wondering if I were missing something somewhere cause your rational was pretty good until that
Anyway good game and the commentary made it quite interesting
This was very entertaining for me to watch. Of course, I'm nearly total chess noob with only a few books read, but that's also the largest average target audience. Go chess commentary! gg gl hf
Could you guys provide some feedback about commentary? Things I should work on and so on? I realize my english is shaky, but how about things I should focus on and so on? What would YOU like to hear chess commentator speak about?
he's not on here, but kingscrusher's channel on youtube has a ton of interesting live commentaries on it at a fairly high level, as well as analysis of longer games. he's been doing more bullet rather than blitz recently though

And could someone link me Ng5, I couldn't find him on youtube. Exactly how good is he (Is he titled/whats his FIDE)?
