After watching the recently posted "After Talk" about the betting scandal, I've been thinking of how I could personally help support e-Sports. Hearing how e-Sports relies mostly on its sponsors and fans to survive, I think we as fans should do what is within our power to encourage and support e-Sports.
What I was thinking was to thank Korean Air for sponsoring the OSL that just passed. They are one of the biggest sponsors the OSL has had in recent times. As stated in the show "After Talk (13:38 to 15:20)," after Korean Air was secured as a sponsor, prospective sponsors seemed really bright. Companies don't profit much from e-Sports, but benefit from the image.
Why should we thank Korean Air? We should show that Starcraft fans still care, even though there's this scandal. We should show that we love the Starleagues and the players behind them. We should give them an image of a very lively e-Sports community; a community that is not only situated in Korea, but also in the many countries that watched on TL. The thousands of people who stayed up late to watch a Bo5 Starcraft match.
I've heard that companies love receiving thank you notes from people they've interviewed. In the same respect, I would think that they'd enjoy receiving thank you notes from events that they sponsored.
Here's what I'm asking TL: Do you think it would be a good idea to submit comment cards on the Korean Air site thanking them for sponsoring the OSL? I know those comment cards are intended for customer use, but I don't know of another way to contact Korean Air. Do you think this will be of any benefit or would this be marked as spam?
If you do think this is worth it and submit a comment card, I would suggest not mentioning anything about the scandal.

I think its more of a quality feedback thing, id not fill it up with stuff they don't need to read.

korean air can give a shit about you being grateful for their sponsorship, unless you way of expressing gratitude means spending $$ on their airline.
just the way it is homie

if i go to korea I'm going to fly Korean Air, thats the least i could do for supporting them.

Well it DOES say to them that we as fans noticed that they sponsored it. Which is the whole reason why they would do it. Publicity.

yeah... no. good will doesn't pay the bills. it's essentially an ad. it's designed to get people to use korean air instead of their competitors the next time they go to SK.

Well in that case people can say "the next time I fly to SK I'll be sure to use Korean Air!"
Although most foreigners who watched OSL will most likely never go to SK, but if I did I'd use them.

Yeah, they designed it to focus on the foreigner for his tourist visits to SK.... inspired by BW... It all makes sense now...
A lot of it is for public image and sending lil postcards as stupid and silly as it is probably gives them the idea of an improved public image.

Letting them know that there were more people than just those in korea watching their ads will be good news to korean air.
And good will does pay the bills, a company that sponsors a charity event is, in a way, advertising themself as a 'company that cares', just like korean air sponsoring the osl showed them as an involved company in the community.
Edit: That being said I don't think this will do much more than maybe brighten the day of a few korean air employees before they delete the cards because they have no function for the company.

LOL just imagine how many of those cards they get a day and they took time to respond to you. This is good news, but probably not best for everyone to go on their site and flood the comment cards because at some point they will probably get annoyed. Nice work getting the response though

This actually isn't a bad idea.
