Lost is just ridiculously bad. I'm not sure how anyone can defend the writing at this point. It's entered the Heroes sphere of terribleness.

As for Dexter, it's entertaining like House, but neither are all that strong in terms of plot. They're super episodic so you can jump in at any point and it'll basically be the same. I guess as TV shows, it makes them good but not very deep.
