I am not big on tv shows but apparently there has always been this big rave about the tv show Lost. I just heard mixed reviews about it and never really got into it. I didnt watch it so i cant really compare it to my favorite show dexter. Dexter is the only show i watch on tv when it comes on. So for those of you who are fans of both or just one or the other... which show do you prefer????

I've never seen Dexter but I can't imagine a worse show than Lost.

I am 90% sure that Dexter would murder the entire cast of Lost.. Literally.

The plot for lost was about 1 season long without magic. Kind of obvious which is better.

A lot of people dislike LOST because they don't understand it. LOST is the type of show where if you miss one episode you will have no clue what is going on. Therefore people will miss an episode and start watching a few episodes down the track and be like "WHAT, this show doesn't make any sense it's stupid"
LOST is one of the deepest, most interesting shows I've ever seen. To truly appreciate how deep the show is you have to go to external sources like online forums and discuss with other people on things you would of missed. No other show I've watched kept me in such suspense and desire to know what happens next.

Dexter has Michael C. Hall, and not only is he really really really sexy, he plays a guy who can go pro ice in any situation. The writing is good and the plot is for the most part solid. awesome shit.

Having seen both, it all depends on which season you are watching. I think Dexter season 1 was really good, 2 was not bad but 3 isn't that great. I haven't seen 4. As for lost, I find it pretty addicting to watch, although there are a few filler episodes, generally its a good show. So both shows are worth watching in my opinion, although I give Lost a slight edge.

See this is the problem, as a soon as the plot gets a little complex and away from your standard everyday mind-numbing entertainment, people are like oh it's so complex, so mindlessly complex, I don't want to actually THINK while watching a show that's preposterous!
The writing is awesome, but then again you only watched a season of it, so yeah when I want to give a review of the ocean I take a little dip at my local beach and judge its entirety based on that.

I prefer to "truly appreciate" my TV shows whilst watching them, when a show becomes so complex and up it's own ass that to appreciate it I have to go to external sources its missing the point.
