my problem with lost is that its hard to remember all the things year by year and im to lazy to watch the last season again right before the next begins.
but even if i dont understand all of it, its still entertaining.

maybe in 5 years i will watch all 6 seasons again.

I prefer to "truly appreciate" my TV shows whilst watching them, when a show becomes so complex and up it's own ass that to appreciate it I have to go to external sources its missing the point.
Edit: also bacon

i understood lost seasons 1-4 fine watching them back to back on abc.com

and 5 and 6 explain more stuff, fewer mysteries, so they're easier to follow

LOST isn't that complex, dexter is really good but i can't vote on the poll, i like them equally

LOST is one of the deepest, most interesting shows I've ever seen. To truly appreciate how deep the show is you have to go to external sources like online forums and discuss with other people on things you would of missed. No other show I've watched kept me in such suspense and desire to know what happens next.

Lost has horrid writing, a stupid, needlessly complex plot that is full of holes. Is bad, I gave it a season of my time it didn't pay me back in full. silly shit.

Dexter has Michael C. Hall, and not only is he really really really sexy, he plays a guy who can go pro ice in any situation. The writing is good and the plot is for the most part solid. awesome shit.

See this is the problem, as a soon as the plot gets a little complex and away from your standard everyday mind-numbing entertainment, people are like oh it's so complex, so mindlessly complex, I don't want to actually THINK while watching a show that's preposterous!

The writing is awesome, but then again you only watched a season of it, so yeah when I want to give a review of the ocean I take a little dip at my local beach and judge its entirety based on that.

When there's an oil spill in the ocean, you don't go in the ocean. The show had an inane first season. Don't talk to me about not wanting to think, you think this "Lost" bullshit is complicated? Go watch a David Lynch movie, then get back to me. You are a ridiculous little man.

Err...well you seem to think it's complicated too, considering you disliked its "needlessly complicated plot". I can see your passionate hate for the show though so I think I'll stop trying, but I guess I'm a "ridiculous little man" for a having an opinion that differs from yours right?

Key difference is word 'needless'. You're ridiculous for your silly ocean analogy. One season is a lot of episodes, and if I didn't like the show by then, I'm clearly not going to like it, and yet you seem to think that I am somehow being like OH YOU CAN'T JUDGE MY SHOW. Just did.

Ok, first you were like show is needlessly complicated. Then I'm like people dislike it cause it's complicated. Then you're like you think it's complicated? pfffft it's not complicated, david lynch is complicated.

The reason I had the ocean analogy is because the whole show is a continuous plot line, season 1 is just merely the intro, it barely begins to scratch into the plot, it's just setting the stage. I agree with the fact that if you didn't like the first season you won't like the rest, but judging the whole plot of the show and it's writing based on the first season is the part I didn't agree with.

I love Dexter, used to love Lost.
I think the problem with Lost is that you completely forget any details in the long breaks between seasons, so when a new season starts you have no idea of what's going on.
Dexter, on the other hand, is just perfect.

do you REALLY think it takes any effort to understand lost? REALLY? hahaha come on man
I do enjoy lost quite a bit, but dexter >>> lost, main reason being Michael C. Hall and his chiselled good looks. His acting is superb, and the way he smiles sometimes really creeps me the fuck out, makes me believe hes an actual serial killer

But...pretty much everyone uses the first season of a show to judge how good it is or will be...how can you not agree with common sense? I mean if a show doesnt keep you entertained for its first entire season, what reason is there to stick around? extremely illogical to say you 'dont agree' with it

Lost's writing has gotten continuously worse to the point where they've ruined pretty much every major character. The dialogues are horribly predictable and the plot has gaping holes. At this point, the whole show seems to circle around cheap tricks to create suspense and any real content is pretty much gone.

I loved season 1, and I at least liked Lost until season 6 but eh, if you really feel like Lost's writing and plot is top notch, I don't think you've watched any actually good films before.

edit: and yes, I do know my way around Lost. I've watched most Lost episodes 3 times because I used to watch the episodes with different groups of friends.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

have you watched the shows? it is a very easy pick dexter has the BEST and most REAL, cliff hangers.. the last season had an amazing ending.

Lost just got lost in their own story its just not as compelling anymore.. im just watching just to know how it ends..

with lost you are juggling between characters and storylines it just becomes stale after a while.. with dexter each season is better and has a deeper storyline..

but they are very different tv shows.. its like saying do you like bacon? or cheese ?

Lets see, choosing between a group of people stranded on an island, that fights other groups of people stranded on the same island but they aren’t really stranded and then there are those strange things like black clouds of death and polar bears and some really weird shit where suddenly they all really DIED and are trapped in purgatory.

Or you could watch some really hot guy, play a sociopath that kills bad guys that occasionally conflicts with his real life as a blood spatter guy / husband.

Wait, I actually have to choose one?

Hmmm for those who may be confused, the number of E's and Z's were supposed to be indicative of how much Dexter is better than Lost, but instead it just seems like I had a minor stroke while replying.
