Even if it's minor, you were breaking the law. Ignorance isn't an excuse.... remind me again how he's a dick for doing his job? There's nothing illegal about busting a u-turn there or following you. He could have been reading plates, getting authorization from hq, etc. He has no obligation to give you a warning, and more than likely, if you didn't get one, it's because you were probably acting all smug the entire time.

Jesus why do people assume that I was an asshole to him straight from the get-go I had no reason to act smug(Edit: In fact I feel being pulled over is actually a bit embarrassing and slightly humiliating), Ignorance can be an excuse when you arn't genuinely informed, Hell cops dont even know every single RCW law they are supposed to abide by themselves. I was asking a question if its illegal to use a on-ramp for a u-turn because they are considered one way streets so its a legitimate question, and I didn't tilt until he said because I can.

Ignorance isn't an excuse, I don't know what makes you think it is. Law's a law, and you don't get a pass for that (not to mention, you're expected to know the rules of the road when you get your license.... otherwise, you honestly shouldn't be driving)
You broke the law, and people typically get tickets for that. Warnings are given out at the cop's discretion, and he apparently thought you didn't deserve it (and no, I doubt he looked at your 20 year old car and was like, 'WHOA, WHAT A RICH PRICK'). No one has to give you a warning for being stupid and not knowing the rules.

Try to take a little bit of responsibility.

Okay two things. The plate shouldn't be on the dashboard. Maybe you got it that way, but it's not supposed to be there...you just got hit with the ticket on a bad day, not like the cop knows if you have a good or bad day when he pulls you over.
Secondly, that sucks D: I feel for you. I have had cops be really nice though. One day i was comming back from work and I was really REALLLY tired. I ran a red light right infront of a cop. The cop pulled me over and asked me "did you see what you just did etc etc" I apologized and told the cop that I had been working late and i was very tired comming back ( I had been working longer hours) I told him i was very sorry and I really needed to get home and get rest so I could recover. He looked at me for a bit (sort of like trying to see if i was an honest person or not). Then he said sigh this is just a warning this time, just get some rest and he let me go o-o

Good luck getting the ticket removed but you really have no right to complain about the cop's attitude after you were just as bad.
After being so disrespectful to a cop that pulled him over he's lucky all he got that night was an arrogant response... and the OP probably doesn't realize it.

Your right I just imagined you assumed it all
I was more annoyed at first when I wrote the thread which is why I wrote whine/rage in thread title you should expect as much but throughout our little disagreement ive been mostly level headed.

Im not going to argue about the ignorance piece anymore and its obvious you arn't expected to know every single law and rule to the road otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to miss any questions on the written and you would be required to get 100% on the driven test. Its surprising how many people don't know (including the police) simple things like being able to turn left on a red light onto a one way street if traffic allows, or that if a policeman in his cruiser is parked on the side of the street hes legally not allowed to ticket you if he doesn't at least have his parking lights on, and (at least here) a policeman isn't allowed to be outside his vehicle when he radars you and I have in the thread noted and acknowledged that I did break the law and understood that part, and I was more or less going on the lines that a police man is more inclined to take notice or follow a Sports car then your average SUV or commuting car, not a WHAT A RICH PRICK thing if you find that BS g4u this is what i found in my experiences. I just think it was minor enough to give a warning for its not like I get pulled over frequently and I know for a fact my county doesn't have a quota.

Each time someone posts a rage/whine thread, there will be sympathizers and um non-sympathizers?
I really don't see why you rage and whine and then defend your rage and whining. If you have time to do this, you would have had enough time to properly attach your plate
|
Soooo go prove me wrong and go to court and say, 'Judge, I did not know this law existed, and I'd like to challenge my ticket'. Please, tell me what happens.
Ignorance isn't a defense against breaking a law, no matter how trivial you think it is. That's a law so that people don't put it in the windshield (making it hard to read) and take off when they do something retarded and get away with it. The cop not giving you a break doesn't make him a dick. He doesn't have to do that... so, in essence, this is yet another stupid whiny cop blog where the supposed victim is just complaining he got caught.

the point is not that he got the ticket, the point is that the cop car deliberately followed him for eight minutes when he could have pulled him over at any time, until he got to his house, arguably for the sole purpose of being an asshole
the cop could also call you a stupid faggot while giving you a ticket and that would probably be 100% legal but he would still be a dick for it

he seemed to rage about getting the ticket and paying for it for a good paragraph or more. he also did rage about it being on his windshield because he "got it that way"
edit, he raged about the law too

How is that dick lol. Likely, he read the plates, radioed to HQ and waited to see if he was going to do anything else illegal. Like I said before, the reason it's illegal is cuz it conceals the plate #, and he certianly could be right to suspect that he's making it hard to read the plates because he's gonna do something dumb.

I've had a couple sour experiences like this, especially with young cops. They power trip and abuse everything they can in order to show some sort of dominance when dealing with people my age.
I drove by a ride program once, where they were pulling people over to check if they were drinking or not. The cop was making a waving signal, so I thought he was waving me on, telling me to go ahead through. For some reason he was waving to get me to stop (?). They ended up yelling at getting me out of my car, and one cop got up in ma face while 2 others searched my car, with my drunken friends in it. He told me i could get a fuckin $440 ticket for wreckless driving, because i misinterpreted his fuckin hand signals.
I too share your hatred for these type of people.

I really doubt the cop tailed you for 8 minutes. Maybe you were both driving the same speed but I doubt he was purposefully following you.

i hate fucking cops too...they should have more important things to do than pulling people over for minor traffic violations...fucking cops needs to stop eating their donut and catch some real criminals...fucktards..hate them fucking cops who sit on their ass all day in their car and pull people over just cuz they can..fuckers go to hell!!!!

lol I got pulled over in my prelude 2 times. They always follow my car, it's so annoying. One time they pulled me for having one headlight bulb going dead but he ticketed me for my exhaust. The other time I got pulled over was because my gps was in the center instead of the side >_>..
