Saying he should have just given you a warning is stupid and that you didn't "know" it was illegal is worse.
Ignorance is no excuse, and why should you get special treatment by getting a warning?
Sure a warning is nice when you get one, but cops are in no way obligated to give them out just so you don't get upset.
I do agree though, that him saying "because I can" was very rude and uncalled for.

Good luck getting the ticket removed but you really have no right to complain about the cop's attitude after you were just as bad.
After being so disrespectful to a cop that pulled him over he's lucky all he got that night was an arrogant response... and the OP probably doesn't realize it. Ignorance isn't an excuse.... remind me again how he's a dick for doing his job? There's nothing illegal about busting a u-turn there or following you. He could have been reading plates, getting authorization from hq, etc. He has no obligation to give you a warning, and more than likely, if you didn't get one, it's because you were probably acting all smug the entire time. Jesus why do people assume that I was an asshole to him straight from the get-go I had no reason to act smug(Edit: In fact I feel being pulled over is actually a bit embarrassing and slightly humiliating), Ignorance can be an excuse when you arn't genuinely informed, Hell cops dont even know every single RCW law they are supposed to abide by themselves. I was asking a question if its illegal to use a on-ramp for a u-turn because they are considered one way streets so its a legitimate question, and I didn't tilt until he said because I can. I don't think anyone including me assumed this. YOU are the one assuming that we think this. You are obviously annoyed which is affecting your judgment but.... don't come across like a whiny child and we can more easily support you. Your right I just imagined you assumed it all I was more annoyed at first when I wrote the thread which is why I wrote whine/rage in thread title you should expect as much but throughout our little disagreement ive been mostly level headed. Er, your complaining occurred after you were just as bad. Maybe you weren't annoying to him before he was annoying to you, but that's not relevant to my point hence my claim that you are assuming things incorrectly. If you hadn't done anything that is fairly immature prior to making your thread then I would have had more sympathy.

Most people don't realize law enforcement is a job too. These people aren't doing it because they love their country, they love their citizens, or they want to enforce the law. They do it for the money.
Saw these greedy mother-fuckers pulling over parents dropping off their kids at a nearby daycare center because apparently it was a "NO PARKING ANYTIME" zone, when they could be fucking busting drug deals 50 miles away.

You get both kinds, the dicks and the decent guys. I've had more my share of the decent guys, even though traffic cops in suburbia are generally bored motherfuckers and don't have the best reputation, a lot of them really are nice guys.
I had a cop give me a verbal warning for going 15 over when I was having a really bad day and I really didn't need another ticket. He did all the paperwork too, but was really cool about it.
I also had a cop combine 3-4 charges into 2 (driving with a suspended license, reckless driving); he dropped a driving without the required paperwork and a "going 30 over the limit".
Of course, I also had a cop give me a ticket for "not waiting for a pedestrian", because the pedestrian was 6 inches off the curb when I began moving forward slowly in order to complete my turn. That shit is fucking annoying, of course.

You should've just said "Officer..why don't we discuss this over a box of donuts!" with a Scottish accent. See what happens then.
