God I hate it when I play a ZvT and I win, and i'm like, this was a bit easy. Then I look at the replay and the T thinks he has perfect macro. With 1000 in the bank, he still only makes one marine or medic in each barracks. Having units on queue is bad. Yeah, and producing only one third of the time is not?

A friend of mine laughed at me for having units queued like that and we're both D-level on iccup. I thought it was kinda weird of him to think it was bad to do despite me having lots of backed up resources.

I also like to assume what my opponent was thinking and then make fun of him for it.

Ah come on, it was so obvious. Should I stick to 5 hatch in zvp if my macro is bad? Off course not, I build a hatch when I have too much surplus minerals.

I guess it's just the realizition that I only beat a nub while I tought I was doing great. And I can't learn anything from such a game. I did a lurker backstab for instance, I don't know when it's viable exactly, and now I still don't.

While my macro is terrible, I still feel like trying to build one unit at time is better or sometimes que up to 2nd.

Why? Because it helps me learn to spend my money better, it shows me what I'm doing wrong and try to do it better next game.

Then again, I'm D- and terribad, but thats just my view on it. Usually end up adding more rax to get moneys down and try to make up for terrible macro.

You should tell him to switch to protoss. ddzzzzzztt1a2a3a4t5t6t to victory.

Yes, because otherwise you get used to playing bad. Challenging yourself is how you learn and improve your macro. Crutches like an unnecessary 6th hatch just impair you.

Imagine the noob who says he can't survive 5 minutes unless he cuts scvs at 10 so he can get 2 barracks and a couple marines at his choke faster. He should learn to survive without cutting SCVs.

Straw man argument.

Should I macro even If that means I can't burrow my lurkers?

edit: You shouldn't be too focused on anything. I think at the D level we were playing at, he was too focused on his perfect macro. And yes he was too focused at it, i watched the rep and he never queued.

If anything switch to zerg. Miss a production round? Don't worry you can just build two units at the same time!

Where are all the 'k's?

I would try not to queue up more than 2 units (really that's ok in lategame if you're using bio tvz, micro is still quite important there - you should know how I mean that), and if there still is money left over I would add more production facilities.
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

The point I was making is that you're trading long term development for short term success. Every time someone illustrates their point doesn't mean they're committing a straw man argument. You're committing a fallacy yourself anyway, by attacking what you perceive to be a weak part of my argument and then dismissing the rest as if it depended on it. Maybe consider retaking Philosophy 101
