However, I wake up today and I put my headphones in and one of the sides is noticeably softer. Also the lows are very distorted. I think the shock may have done something.
Things I have tried:
1. Using my headphones in my mp3 player and they sound fine.
2. Changed the pci slot that the physical sound card was in.
3. Messing with all my audio settings.
4. Several restarts.
5. Banging my head against the wall.
The reason I think its strange is because I don't know logically why there would be such a delay between the shock and the problem. Although it was pretty late last night when I got off my computer so maybe I didn't notice the problem then, but the sound distortion is very noticeable on anything that has bass.
Suggestions? Wait it out? Recommendations on a new card? I've always felt sound cards are annoyingly more expensive than they should be... My budget would probably be like $50 if I needed a new one. My speakers are run-of-the-mill 2.1's but my headphones are Senn HD555's so I like a decent sound card.
Or maybe the problem is deeper? Perhaps the shock would mess up a new card as well...although nothing else seems to be wrong with my computer.
Thanks!
