I just decided to finally advance past D+ and for that I will be picking up a map each week from the map of the week section.

This week I will be learning Moon Glaive.
I find it little bit difficult to mantain the high grounds because 1) zerg can flank too easily and plant lurkers around and 2) Siege Tanks are a pain in the butt specially when T's go for turtle 101 200/200 3-3-3 attack modes.

Anyways I would like to hear any tips from you guys if you are willing to help a D/D+ guy. For example BO's and Strategies that have worked good for you in this map would be appreciated.

my suggestion for getting past D+: Don't pick the motw that koreans play. ^_^

To get better work the basics :
I suggest starting with very passivs macros builds with a good timing attack, focus on macro (yes this is boring)

Statistically, Python is a very good TvP map; but at D level, it's great for Protoss since most D level Terran aren't nearly good enough to take advantage of Python's imbalances.

Uh, making past D+ in the first week is actually quite a feat. I used to be able to get to C with less than 5 losses, now i'm 22-20 and still at D+.
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

well I do not want to pass the D ranks in week, that is my general goal, and the thing is that I have heard that changing maps would help me little bit more than staying at 1 specific map all the time.

I have to admit that after I got 2-8 against the first wave of koreans I decided to go Python for a few games to straight that out, right now I am 5-9 and will resume with picking just moon glaive but you know what? when I start losing like crazy i will have to resort back to the map I know like the back of my palm.... xD

It is true that just making probes has given me a lot of advantages with the D guys and I actually hit high D+ (and I am sure I can get C- fairly easily) but I want to learn little bit more now that I am confident in my overall probe production.

EXACTLY! haha. when I play Korean Terrans on the map they're all about the 2 fac all-in or 2 base 6-7 fac all-in ^^ it's very hard to stop as P which is why i call python imba haha

Just try to pick your fights well, always lurk close to T's army, ready to attack when he's unsieged, out of position or just to pick off a few stray vultures. Usually p tries to avoid fighting, just as Zerg does in zvt. It's about keeping him away (without engageing him much) until you get that critical tech (legs, arbs, etc. mostly timings), army or resources/gates for the army (if you went early 3rd).

Make sure your 1 2 3 groups are positioned so that they make a semicircle around the T's army at all times if you can. Try to fight him on the positions where there's plenty of space to place your army like that, don't attack on bridges etc.

When you engage and do the starting micro, if you see the fight is going well, go back to macro, then back to the fight, if you see it's turned to bad, retreat, if not, micro a bit. Pull back when you loose zealots, unless you're sure you're going to kill him - then wait for the new wave of zeals (and some goons) and attack if the situation is good. (if your macro is better than his, you will have more reinforcement army and it will arrive sooner at the battle grounds, giving you an advantage)

Always try to drag a few zealots manually a bit further than the rest and attack the tanks a bit behind - that draws tank fire away from the rest of your units and also uses the splash dmg against the Terran. (not to mention mine drag) When you have goons vs tanks, pull about 1-2 goons a bit in front of the rest, to avoid splash killing you.



For macro, there are a few styles, I prefer to expand much, and have just enough army to defend, make pylon walls, put pylons at the edge of the base to check for drops, etc. It's dancing on the razors edge, but once your economy kicks in, it's much easier.


As for Moon Glaive, I didn't play on it, but it seems like the map that requires the control of the center above anything else, since if you give up the high ground and expand a lot, the terran will have an easier time pinning you down. So I'd go with a bit more aggressive build here to reverse the situation, like powergoon and when you get some control, expand like mad. But I could be wrong.

It looks like terrans can get easy exps, but once they run out of the first 3-4 exps, it's pretty hard to get new ones, so a build designed to hit at that timing could be also good, to prevent them expading.

Recalling on the main *or* the furthermost exp seems viable, so terran has to be careful about that.

For the 200/200 terran STOOOOORM and then waves of units from 234234234 gates. But for that, you gotta macro and expand, ie. try to identify if this terran is a 200/200 3-3 terran and expand more than usually if he is.
