This morning I had a really really really important interview with Deloitte that I was very lucky to receive in which I've spent weeks preparing for. You know how in movies and shows there's that cliché line that goes, "This is the job interview of my life?" Well, it described this one pretty well.
Last night I met up with my long-distance GF, where she came to visit me from another university and we spent the whole night together, with her spending the night at my place. After sleeping together we ended up talking until really late, after which I slept like a baby because I was so tired.
Then I woke up this morning, around 11am, and my interview was at 10am. I panicked and checked my alarm, I set THREE alarms 5 minutes apart because I was afraid I would just hit one and keep on sleeping, but somehow I slept through all three of them.
Turns out my caring GF turned off all the alarms because she wanted me to get a good night's sleep. I didn't tell her about the interview because I wanted to surprise her with my amazing job if I do get the offer. Then I started raging like I have never done so in my life before, I'm normally a pretty laid-back guy that doesn't get angry over anything. But this morning, I raged so hard at my GF I was a completely different person, and all her crying and pleading just infuriated me even more, and I ended up slapping her and telling her to stfu, and gtfo.
And she did.
I KNOW IT'S NOT HER FAULT. I AM SO MAD AT MYSELF. In fact, I am disgusted and horrified at the way I acted. I would have NEVER, ever, in a million years, thought that I'd actually hit my GF.
So after I calmed down, the panic and indescribable guilt settled in. I was in shock at the monster that I had been just a few minutes ago, I honestly couldn't believe the way that I acted could come from me in a billion years. I tried calling her as I picked up my coat determined to chase after her. But when I got to the parking lot, she had already left.
I called her for 3 hours, I lost count how many times I had tried. Without a doubt, those were absolutely THE most horrible 3 hours of my life. In the end, she did pick up, and before I could pour my heart out to her about how sorry I was and how much I wanted to kill myself, she just said, "don't worry, I know, and I forgive you."
I am going to end up marrying this girl aren't I.

Man, talk about a bad fucking day. It's unjustifiable, but I don't think you're a bad person. You just need to learn to tell yourself when you're really upset to go on a walk outside until you clear your head. That way you don't do things you'll regret in the heat of a moment.
Although your gf is seriously stupid if she turns off not one, but THREE alarms. Hahaha, what the hell was she thinking. I guess she was just distracted by her happiness, and it was late at night... It wouldn't warrant a slap either way, but I think if you looked into her mind she's probably kicking herself for it.

I guess I haven't been in that situation before, but that girl really is something. She was really nice to let you sleep early, (even though she didn't know), and then after all that bad stuff that happened, she's still got it for you.
Wow....just wow. That really touches me, to know that there are people out there who are like that.
You're not a bad person. Don't worry. I think it was definitely a rational response and it was your big day. Granted, you overreacted just a tad bit (haha), but I think you shouldn't get yourself down. If there's one thing to look at, it's that you're girlfriend is definitely one in a bajillion.
And yes. It'd be a shame to not marry her. :D

Then you're just on one extreme of the spectrum.
Try looking at the other side for once so you can settle down somewhere between the two extremes.
I'm all for compromise. I understand what you're saying but if anyone's being a douchebag, it's you. For what? For failing to take into account everything presented in the OP.
