US common law evolved from British common law, and the two still share many laws and concepts. Not very useful from a business perspective, except for perhaps contracts and negligence / products liability issues, but those are complicated areas. Trying to compare negligence laws between the US and France is bound to get bogged down in the differences between civil law and common law. | ||
