I also recommend Ju-on (japanese). The American Ring was good too. I thought it was scarier than the japanese one to be honest.

The Exorcist still scares me. I saw it when I was 10 or so and I literally had nightmares for like 2years. Movie still to this day freaks the fuck out of me.

but lol like nothing happens for the first hour
considering the movie is not even 1.5hrs long, that's a problem. by the time anything started happening i was already so bored i didn't even care :S

Please not Saw... unless it's like maybe the first one that was only decent.
Like people said, most Japanese ones are pretty nice, they have plenty that are subbed out there on like MySoju or Silent Regrets. Korean ones are nice too but I think Japanese ones are usually more original and intense.

I'm watching this right now. I'm about halfway through. There is a common cultural mythology difference that takes me out of it a little bit, but even then...this movie is worth the time.
